Students of the Alexandre Lámfalussy Faculty of Economics organized an Intercultural Evening to celebrate the cultural diversity of the University of Sopron and to bring together people from different backgrounds. Cultures from 17 countries were showcased through food tasting, cultural dances and songs, games, and other fun activities🍜🎤🩰🎨

As part of the project week, international students from the Lámfalussy Faculty visited the Autoliv Kft. factory in Sopronkövesd, where they were able to see the seat belt manufacturing and testing processes up close.

On the 22nd of October the Alexandre Lámfalussy Faculty of Economics, in collaboration with the International Office of the university, hosted a vibrant “Meet and Game” evening for students of the University of Sopron. The recreational event, held at the VUK Dormitory, aimed to promote inclusion, foster intellectual engagement, and strengthen bonds among students from diverse academic and cultural backgrounds. The successful gathering brought together more than 30 students representing different faculties, programs, and languages of study. Participants connected and interacted through a range of critical thinking games, E-games, and leisure activities designed to stimulate the mind while ensuring plenty of fun. The university provided a variety of games and snacks to create a relaxed and engaging evening. Two friendly tournaments added a competitive spark to the evening; a ♟️Chess Tournament and a ⚽️FIFA (Football Gaming) Tournament.

On 23 May, the Alexandre Lamfalussy Faculty of Economics organized a one-day cultural excursion for international students from all four faculties of the university to offer insight into the rich cultural heritage of the region. They took a guided tour to learn more about the Esterházy Castle in Fertőd.
They participated in an interactive program, organized by the Croatian Cultural Association. They also had the opportunity to listen to their traditional music, thanks to the Kajkavci Tamburazenekar.

On Thursday, November 21st, the 3rd-year International Economics students hosted a cultural event as part of their Project Management class. They showcased their countries’ unique gastronomy and everyone got a taste of the rich cultural diversity of our faculty. 🥘🌮🍛

International students planted trees 🌱🌳
A large number of international students of our faculty participated in the usual university autumn tree planting ceremony. The work was completed in a good atmosphere, and the landscape of Sopron was enriched with another 1423 tree seedlings. We thank our students for their valuable work! ☺️🙌

Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming ten first-year doctoral students from FOM Hochschule to the University of Sopron! 🎓✨

As part of a cooperative agreement between our institutions, the students participated in an intensive program focusing on research methodology and scientific literature. Beyond academics, the group explored the beautiful cultural and natural heritage of Sopron as well. 🌿🏰

Visit to Bábolna & Komárom 🐴🏦
🌍 Students from the Lámfalussy Faculty visited Bábolna Nemzeti Ménesbirtok to pet the famous horses of Bábolna and learn about their fascinating history. After a lunch in a local restaurant, the group was whisked away to the past at Csillagerőd, where they could learn about art history and see how sculpting evolved throughout the centuries. 🚎

Exploring Szombathely: A Day of History & Innovation! 🏛️🔬

Our Lámfalussy Faculty squad took on Szombathely, diving into ancient Roman vibes and futuristic innovation! After peeking into advanced management at Pannon Business Network, cutting-edge technologies at Advanced Manufacturing Laboratory and advanced treatment possibilities at At.home (https://www.at-home.hu/hu/index.php) the group had lunch at a local restaurant. The last program for the day was the Iseum Savariense that whisked us back to the ancient times—a day etched in memories! 🚌🌍
