✨ For the fourth time, the publication brings together successful initiatives and experiments that seek solutions to social challenges through new approaches.

🤝 The aim of the handbook is to present the everyday workings of social innovation through clear, practical examples, and to inspire those who wish to contribute to the development of their communities with a fresh perspective, social responsibility and human-centred solutions.

💡 The publication particularly emphasizes that although technology and artificial intelligence are playing an increasingly important role in our lives, social innovation is still based on human presence, true understanding, trust, support and work done from the heart.

🌍 Innovation and collaboration for the future of tourism!

The Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Pannonia will host the international professional conference “Innovation Networks in Tourism” on 12 June 2026 in Veszprém, Hungary.

The event will bring together Hungarian and international experts, researchers, and project partners to share their experiences on tourism innovation networks through case studies from Krakow, Liberec, Vrnjačka Banja, and the Balaton region.

The programme also includes a workshop, a roundtable discussion, and networking opportunities, while the day will conclude with a BalatonBor wine presentation and tasting. 🍷

The conference is organised within the framework of the international project “Empowering Open Innovation Tourism Network”, supported by the International Visegrad Fund.

📆 Between 22 and 24 April 2026, the Horizon Europe CROCUS consortium gathered in Opatija 🇭🇷 for the WP6 and WP7 Workshop and Consortium Meeting 🤝 – a key milestone as the project enters its final phase. 🚀

🏛️ The Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Pannonia was represented by the professional lead of the CROCUS project, Dr Ágnes Raffay-Danyi, together with colleagues involved in the project implementation: Dr Katalin Lőrincz, Dr Zsófia Papp, and Réka Vámosi. 👩‍🏫👩‍💼

📊 During the three-day programme, Dr Ágnes Raffay-Danyi presented the results of the Slovenian-Hungarian Living Lab 🇸🇮🇭🇺 and the region-specific sustainable business models developed within the project. 🌱♻️

🏃‍♀️⚽🏐 As part of the Sports Day organized in celebration of the Hungarian Sports Day, our international students enthusiastically took part in an exciting series of sporting challenges! 🌍💪

Throughout the morning, participants had the opportunity to try a variety of sports, including Baranta (traditional Hungarian martial arts) 🏹, athletics 🏃, rowing 🚣, basketball 🏀, combat sports 🤼‍♂️, and triathlon disciplines 🚴‍♀️. Working in teams, they tested their skills and teamwork while gaining new experiences and creating lasting memories together. 😊

The participating teams received University of Pannonia souvenirs as well as sports equipment and products.🎁🏅

We would like to thank everyone for their participation and enthusiasm - we hope to see the same great energy again next year! 🎉

🌍 International Professional Experiences in Albania – Pannonia Scholarship Program 2026 🇦🇱✈️

Our students participated in an international conference in Albania in April 2026 as part of the short-term mobility program of the Pannonia Scholarship Program, and Kamilla Gáncs wrote a summary of the event. 🎓📚

“Between April 27–30, as Tourism and Hospitality students of the University of Pannonia, we had the opportunity to participate in an international professional conference in Albania, hosted at the Aleksandër Moisiu University of Durrës, as part of the the Pannonia Scholarship Program. 🇦🇱

During the “Family Business Forum – Symposium” conference, we attended inspiring presentations about the development of family tourism businesses, the role of education and international cooperation, and the future of tourism.💡🏨🌐

However, one of the most valuable aspects of the program was the opportunity to build international connections: we had the chance to meet Slovak 🇸🇰 and Czech 🇨🇿 university students and lecturers, with whom we exchanged professional experiences, discussed current challenges in tourism, and gained insight into each other’s educational and tourism perspectives. 🤗🌍

The days we spent together provided us not only with professional knowledge, but also with meaningful personal experiences: new friendships, inspiring conversations, and unforgettable memories were created. We are proud to have represented our university in such an international and motivating environment. ✨

We are proud of our students’ international success! 🌍🏨

Three talented students of the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Pannonia – Czifra Róbert, Sólyom Petra and Kurucz Luca – successfully represented our institution at the Family Business Forum – Symposium, organized within the framework of the 22520073, SkillBridge: Enhancing Family Tourism Enterprises through Education and Cooperation in V4 & Albania international project. The event took place on 27–28 April 2026 in Durrës, Albania, hosted by the Aleksandër Moisiu University of Durrës.

As winners of a project competition organized within the Hotel Management course, our students had the opportunity to present their hotel startup project to an international audience alongside students from the Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra (Slovakia) and the Silesian University in Opava – School of Business Administration in Karviná (Czech Republic).

Their presentation was professionally outstanding, confidently and inspiringly representing Hungarian student innovation and creativity.

The students’ preparation and international participation were professionally mentored by colleagues of the Department of Tourism, Dr. Petra Gyurácz-Németh, Dr. Kitti Hiezl and Eszter Csontó, who continuously supported the team throughout the project.

The main objectives of the event were knowledge sharing, strengthening international cooperation, and supporting family tourism enterprises across the V4 countries and Albania.

We would like to thank our students and mentors for their dedicated work and congratulate them on their excellent performance! 👏
