Adapt or Die

Adapt or Die We believe that true leadership is forged in the fires of adversity. Our unique approach emphasizes shared suffering as a catalyst for growth.

By immersing yourself in challenging situations alongside your team, you foster resilience and trust.

- AOD We started this business to develop a network of individuals that value selfless service, dedication, integrity, preparedness, and community. If we do not take personal responsibility for our safety and the safety of our loved ones, then who will? Mission:

We believe in arming responsible

citizens with the KNOWLEDGE to better prepare themselves for the FIGHT. Whatever that fight may be we EACH have a responsibility to our COMMUNITIES, our FAMILIES, and ourselves to be prepared for it. Being ADAPTIVE and having the ability to solve COMPLEX PROBLEMS is at the core of what we do here. Welcome to the TEAM. A little bit about me:

- I am an Eagle Scout, class of 2012.
- I hold a bachelor's degree in Social Studies and a second major in History, The University of Akron, 2018.
- I enlisted in the Ohio Army National Guard in 2015 as an Infantryman. I would commission as an Officer in 2018. Subsequently, I completed the Infantry Basic Officer Course in 2019. Currently I continue to serve in the Ohio Army National Guard in an Infantry Battalion. Some of the training that I have conducted includes land navigation courses, platoon, squad, and team live fire exercises, qualification ranges for the M4, M9, M2, and MK19, as well as many other training events.
- I have hiked and backpacked hundreds of miles on trails throughout the East Coast, Rocky Mountains, Appalachian Mountains, the Southwestern U.S. , and beyond.
- Currently I hold the NRA Basic Pistol Instructor Certification as well as the USCCA Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals Certification. This short synopsis of my background speaks to a few things: my certifications, my training in the military, and my experience in the great outdoors. My passion for training, adventure, and people stems from my role models, my study of history, and my Faith in God. Throughout all of these different life experiences I have learned that it is important to ALWAYS be a student. Teaching others has facilitated my learning, not only within the disciplines that I teach, but about myself and the world around me. I am excited to share this journey with each of you! Remember... if you are not always prepared, you are never prepared.

You are not behind, you are disoriented.

The world inundates us with noise.

Every minute of every day filled with noise, noise, noise.

It’s past time to shut. It. Down.

from the”grind”, take a second to orient yourself to the Truth, drink water, and execute the mission once you clearly see the path ahead.

Shut out the noise, identify your priorities, simplify the process, and execute consistently.

The X Factor…
-
-
-
-
The willingness to die to yourself and live for something greater.

I know what some of you are thinking… “What do you mean, ‘dying to myself’?!”

Dying to yourself means laying down your selfish desires and personal priorities, and coming to the realization that you aren’t the hero of the story.

For me, it starts and ends with the real Hero—Jesus.
I live because the Holy Spirit puts breath in my lungs. God has given me a mission to complete for Him as I serve in His army.

If you can relate, awesome. If you aren’t quite there yet or have a different faith perspective, I respect your right to believe what you believe.

This is my personal story—what I have experienced in my life.

The conviction of the Holy Spirit… the realization that I’m not the hero, but Jesus is… and what that means for me. That is the X Factor.

This “X Factor” has enabled me to grow through seasons of hardship and seasons of relative peace.

Dying to yourself and living for something greater.
That is something you can get behind, whether you are a Christian or not.

It’s not about us. We aren’t the hero in our own story. Live for something greater than yourself…

When you do that, you will find that you can keep going even when there’s nothing left in you—except the will that reminds you to “hold on!”

This is how leaders are made:
• Commitment to the team
• Hard work
• Consistency
• Accountability
• And recognizing that you are not the hero in the story.

Who’s the hero in your story?

This is how leaders are made… this is how leaders are FORGED.

If this hits home, drop a 🔥 below and tell me — who’s the hero in your story?

Notice I didn’t say “good times” and “good people” lead us to God.

Often it’s the mean and ruthless people. The brutal seasons. The ones that bring you to your knees.

My time in uniform has been a blessing — both the good and the bad. Doing really cool stuff with really good people. And being away from family. Suffering hardship physically, mentally, spiritually.

All of it humbled me. Some of it brought me to my knees in gladness. Some of it in anguish.

The same is true for time on the farm with family.

Sunny days and stormy days. Each one teaching something.

Each one meant to draw us closer to the One who set the stars and planets where they are. The waters where they pool. The mountains where they rise.

He set it all in motion — for you and for me — for a purpose.

To draw us to Him.

To shape us into men and women of character that reflect the image of His Son, Jesus.

That’s the foundation Adapt or Die is built on. Hard-earned experience that God has ordained to make us who we’re meant to be.

It’s our hope to come alongside you on that journey — as you become the leader Christ is calling you to be.

There’s something about loading up and heading into the mountains with your ride or die crew.

No noise. No notifications. Just weight on your back and ground under your feet.

It’s out there — under the load — where God tends to do His best work in me.

ISA 40:31

That’s what AOD is built on. Not just hard training. Purposeful suffering.

Suffering that shapes you into someone worth following.

Pants 👖… you gotta wear them.

Sorry guys, it is not acceptable to run around in your silky shorts 24/7…

And sometimes, dare I say, it’s not even a good idea. 😆

I have used so many different types of pants over the years… BDU trousers, ACU trousers, Crye Precision Combat Pants, FRACU’s, UF PRO combat pants, and the list goes on…

So what have I learned through the years?

💥 You have to have the right pants for the right job!

Working out? Ok, Kuhl pants are great for functional workouts— be it a ruck, a kettle bell circuit, or doing some running and gunning. And if you don’t believe me, go check out rocking the cooolest Kuhl pants for his and his killer driveway workout sessions. pants are also great for EDC and hiking.

Combat pants are great for people that actually need them. Just hiking? Skip the combat pants. Assaulter on a tactical team? Are you a “regular dude” in the Army that wants some higher quality field pants? Sounds like some UF PRO or Crye pants might be good for you! Just make sure to get the field pants for the field and the combat pants for more urban operations where knee pads are more appropriate, cause concrete and knees don’t mix!

The BDU and ACU pants are fine for duty wear. They are baggy and they don’t dry as quick. They will get the job done and are cheap— plus you won’t cry when they get shredded from the C wire or crapped on by the inmates 😜. When I was a maximum security prisoner guard, I went with @5.11 pants over the BDU style for comforts sake, but that came at a price 💰.

For backpacking I have found that hunting companies make the best pants. and make my favorite lightweight hiking pants. They look cool, the feel great, they’re quick drying, and they are functional.

I could type for days talking about pants! 😂

If you want more info on them, check out our website where we drop articles about gear and clothing reviews, along with a whole bunch of various topics on leadership, faith, and more!

Bottom line: get your pants and get going! Gear is just the vessel that helps us get going on our mission!

Is worth the hype?!

I want to preface my answer with the fact that I have not been to war with it. For the short time that I was in a combat zone (NOT engaged in combat, mind you) I used the issued body armor at the time. So please, take my input with a grain of salt.

For the majority of my time training, I have used either a variant of the IOTV or the Mayflower APC, from Velocity Systems. I am new to the Shaw rig.

It is also important to note that large scale combat operations (LSCO) require more body armor than the standard plate carrier. This can be seen across the board in Ukraine. So as always, mission dictates equipment.

The Shaw rig is very comfortable. The shoulder pads distribute the weight that is left from whatever the cummerbund does not distribute. The pads are very comfortable that attached to the inside of the carrier.

The system that tightens around the actual SAPI plate is amazing. It’s super fitted, so you don’t have lots of extra material.

I also really like having the tubes on the cummerbund and the shoulder strap. The shoulder strap QD makes it so much easier to donn and doff your equipment, especially when wearing a helmet.

There’s a lot more that I could say about the rig. It’s durable, it looks cool, it’s expensive… but if you guys have any questions, please drop them in the comments below! I will help however I can. 🇺🇸⚔️💪💯
