A good thing happens when researchers, local partners, students, and community members come together around a shared goal.
In May 2026, a community health exhibition in Tallo, Makassar initiated by Morgan Tarpenning, brought them together to explore the connections between waste management, public health, and daily practices. The event featured free health checks, children's learning spaces, and interactive activities designed to spark conversation and learning.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to do this project. I still have a few more months left, but this feels like a very good activity to reflect on how much I’ve learned …”, Morgan added.
