The Mocks are over. Take a breath.
For most students across Ireland, yesterday marked the end of two weeks of intense pressure.
The pens are down, the exam halls are empty, and the "Big Exhale" has finally arrived at the kitchen table.
As The Study Coach, my advice for parents and students this weekend is simple: Do nothing. Before we start talking about June, everyone needs a moment to reset.
Here is my "Post-Mock" advice for the next 48 hours:
For Parents: Give them the "30-Minute Decompression" rule. When they want to talk about the exams, listen. When they don’t, give them the space to just be a teenager again for a few days.
For Students: Your results are not a reflection of your worth; they are data points. A disappointing mark today isn’t a failure - it’s a GPS coordinate showing us exactly where the "leaks" are in your system so we can fix them before June 3rd.
The Mid-Term Reset
There are just over 15 weeks until the State Exams begin. That is plenty of time to turn things around, provided you have a roadmap.
I’m spending the first three evenings of this mid-term break (Monday, Feb 16th – Wednesday, Feb 18th) running my Student Success Bootcamps live online.
We aren't doing "more school" - we are installing a high-performance system.
I use what we know about the brain to help optimse our time, energy and focus instead of worrying, procrastinating and falling further behing.
Monday: The 80/20 Audit (Finding the marks that matter).
Tuesday: Active Recall & The Memory Palace (Hard-wiring information).
Wednesday: AI Layering & The 15-Week Roadmap.
If you want to move from "panic" to "performance" before school goes back, you can grab a spot below:
