לפעמים כל מה שצריך כדי להתחיל לפתח פתרון — זה לפגוש מישהו שצריך אותו...
ביום חמישי האחרון, תלמידי חטיבת הביניים “עתידים” מנשר, בניהולו של מר רון פלד, הגיעו להציג תוצרים הנדסיים שפיתחו — אבל מהר מאוד היה ברור שזה הרבה מעבר לפרויקטים. זה היה מפגש בין אנשים, רעיונות וצרכים אמיתיים.
המפגש התקיים בפקולטה לחינוך למדע וטכנולוגיה, במעבדת MtED בראשות פרופ' זהבית כהן, במסגרת פרויקט חקר ייחודי שהובילה ד"ר ענבל קולושי־מינסקר — פרויקט שמשלב למידת STEM, חשיבה הנדסית, למידה חברתית־רגשית ותרומה לקהילה.
לאורך הדרך לוו התלמידים על ידי גב' מיה אמויאל, מנהלת אשכול פיס נשר, בסיוע מר יגאל אושין, מורה לרובוטיקה, וגב' אלה אוחובסקי, לבורנטית בית הספר. אל התהליך הצטרפו גם מהנדסים מתנדבים מארגון רוטרי נשר — גרי אורדן, יאיר שור וחיים פוקס — שהביאו איתם ניסיון מהשטח.
אבל הלב של הפרויקט היה המפגש עם משתקמים מ“בית מרים” בקריית חיים, מרכז יום תעסוקתי־שיקומי של עמותת איל"ן, בניהולה של גב' דפנה הולנברג. מטעם המרכז ליוו את התהליך גב' עדי ואלצר, סגנית מנהלת ומרכזת תחום השיקום, וגב' נוגה אורן, עובדת סוציאלית. דרך המפגשים האלה התלמידים זיהו צרכים אמיתיים, ופיתחו להם פתרונות.
בין הפיתוחים שהוצגו:
🔹 צמיד התרעה ברטט לכבדי שמיעה
🔹 מערכת חיישנים לפתיחת דלתות ומעליות
🔹 מכשיר לחיתוך ירקות לשימוש ביד אחת
🔹 מגש יציב להליכון, בולם זעזועים ומונע החלקה
במהלך ההצגה קיבלו התלמידים משוב מקצועי מצוות מעבדת MtED, מהמומחה מר איסחאק שחאדה, מצוות “בית מרים”, ומנציגות הסגל המנהלי של הפקולטה — גב' מורן זיו דוד וגב' עדי ניצן.
הפרויקט הזה הוא תזכורת לכוח של חיבור בין אקדמיה, חינוך וקהילה — ולמה שקורה כשנותנים לתלמידים לא רק ללמוד, אלא גם להשפיע.
דור שלם של מהנדסים ומהנדסות מתחיל בדיוק ככה 💡
Sometimes, all it takes to start developing a solution is to meet someone who truly needs it.
Last Thursday, middle school students from “Atidim” in Nesher, led by Mr. Ron Peled, came to present engineering projects they had developed, but it quickly became clear that this was about much more than projects. It was a meeting point between people, ideas, and real-world needs.
The event took place at the Faculty of Education in Science and Technology at the Technion, in the MtED Laboratory headed by Prof. Zahavit Kohen, as part of a unique research-based project led by Dr. Inbal Koloshi-Minsker - a project that integrates STEM learning, engineering thinking, social-emotional learning, and community engagement.
Throughout the process, the students were guided by Ms. Mia Amoyal, Director of the Pisga (אשכול פיס) Nesher Center, with the support of Mr. Yigal Ushin, robotics teacher, and Ms. Ella Okhovski, the school lab technician. Volunteer engineers from Rotary Nesher - Gary Orden, Yair Shor, and Haim Fuchs - also joined, contributing valuable hands-on experience.
At the heart of the project was the connection with participants from “Beit Miriam” in Kiryat Haim, a vocational rehabilitation day center operated by the ILAN organization, managed by Ms. Dafna Hollenberg. Supporting the process on behalf of the center were Ms. Adi Valtzer, Deputy Director and Head of Rehabilitation, and Ms. Noga Oren, social worker. Through these encounters, students identified real needs and developed practical, accessible solutions.
Among the projects presented:
🔹 A vibrating alert bracelet for individuals with hearing impairments
🔹 A sensor-based system for opening doors and elevators
🔹 A one-handed vegetable cutting device
🔹 A stable, shock-absorbing, anti-slip tray for walkers
During the presentations, students received professional feedback from the MtED Lab team, expert Mr. Ishak Shahada, the “Beit Miriam” staff, and members of the faculty’s administrative team - Ms. Moran Ziv David and Ms. Adi Nizan.
This project is a powerful reminder of what happens when academia, education, and community come together, and when students are given the opportunity not only to learn, but also to make an impact.
This is exactly how a new generation of engineers begins 💡
