On the occasion of World Environment Day 2026, a Tree Plantation Drive was successfully organized at Alipurduar University.

The programme aimed to promote environmental awareness and sustainable living among students and the local community.

The event witnessed the esteemed presence of Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Alipurduar; Hon’ble District Judge, Alipurduar; Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Alipurduar University; Hon’ble MLA, Alipurduar; District Magistrate, Superintendent of Police, Alipurduar; DFO Jaldapara; DFD East BTR; Additional District Magistrate; Sub-Divisional Officer, Alipurduar; along with respected professors, students, and COY-2/13 NCC Cadets of Alipurduar University.

Saplings were planted across the campus to encourage greenery and ecological balance. The dignitaries emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in protecting the environment.

The NCC cadets actively participated, showcasing discipline and commitment to nation-building. The programme concluded with a pledge to nurture the planted trees and contribute towards a greener, cleaner, and more sustainable future for generations to come of all people.

It is indeed a great honour for us that Colonel Sanjay Mani Pradhan, former Commanding Officer of 7 Bengal (G) Bn NCC and 13 Bengal Bn NCC, Cooch Behar, graciously spared his valuable time for the Cadets of COY-2/13 NCC, Alipurduar University.

Sir inspired and guided the Cadets on the path to becoming Officers in the Indian Armed Forces, and shared invaluable insights on developing personality, character, discipline, and leadership qualities.
