Lakshmi Narain College of Pharmacy organized the fourth lecture of its Internal Faculty Development Programme (FDP) Series on 11 July 2026. The session was delivered by Dr. Kaushelendra Mishra, who spoke on the contemporary and academic relevance of "Indian Knowledge System (IKS) in Modern Pharmaceutical Sciences."

The lecture provided valuable insights into the significance of integrating India's rich traditional knowledge with modern pharmaceutical education and research. Dr. Mishra emphasized the scientific foundation of Indian systems of medicine and highlighted the contributions of ancient scholars such as Charaka, Sushruta, and Nagarjuna to the development of healthcare and pharmaceutical sciences. He explained how evidence-based validation of traditional knowledge can contribute to innovative drug discovery, medicinal plant research, quality assurance, and holistic healthcare.

A major focus of the session was the alignment of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Dr. Mishra discussed how NEP 2020 encourages multidisciplinary learning, experiential education, preservation of India's knowledge heritage, and the integration of IKS into higher education curricula. He further explained the recent initiatives of the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) to incorporate IKS into the revised B.Pharm curriculum in accordance with the vision of NEP 2020, enabling pharmacy graduates to appreciate and scientifically evaluate traditional healthcare systems alongside modern pharmaceutical sciences.

The session also highlighted the importance of bridging traditional wisdom with contemporary scientific approaches through interdisciplinary research, innovation, and evidence-based practice. Faculty members actively participated in the interactive discussion and appreciated the practical examples illustrating the relevance of IKS in pharmaceutical education, research, and healthcare.

The lecture concluded with an engaging question-and-answer session, where participants discussed strategies for implementing IKS concepts in teaching, curriculum development, and research activities. The programme enriched the faculty members' understanding of the evolving educational framework and reinforced the importance of integrating India's traditional knowledge systems into modern pharmacy education in line with national educational reforms.

Lakshmi Narain College of Pharmacy (LNCP), Bhopal, successfully organized an expert talk on "Mental Health for Young Adults" under the theme "Mental Health & Wellbeing" to create awareness about the importance of psychological well-being among students.
The session was delivered by Ms. Manjari Upmanyu, Counselling Psychologist, Trauma-Informed Psychotherapist, and Institutional Mental Health Consultant. Through an engaging and interactive discussion, she addressed the mental health challenges commonly faced by young adults, including stress, anxiety, emotional regulation, self-awareness, resilience, and the importance of seeking professional support when needed. She also shared practical strategies to maintain emotional balance, improve coping skills, and promote overall well-being.
The programme was convened by Dr. Surendra Kumar Jain, who emphasized that mental health is an essential component of overall health and plays a significant role in academic success, professional growth, and personal development. He encouraged students to prioritize their mental well-being and develop healthy lifestyle practices.
Students and faculty members actively participated in the session, making it highly interactive and insightful. The expert talk was well appreciated by the attendees and served as a valuable initiative in promoting awareness about mental health and fostering a supportive campus environment.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks to the distinguished speaker for her informative session and valuable guidance, followed by an interactive question-and-answer session with the participants.

Lakshmi Narain College of Pharmacy, Bhopal, in association with MedeXCode Solutions, Pune,successfully organized an informative seminar on “Career Opportunities in Medical Coding" on Wednesday, 08 July 2026. The seminar aimed to create awareness among pharmacy students about emerging career opportunities in the healthcare industry beyond conventional pharmacy practice.

The seminar commenced with a warm welcome to the distinguished speakers, Mr. Yash Pabale, Director, REVXRCM Services LLP, and Mr. Ranajit Bhagat, CEO, REVXRCM Services LLP. The speakers were felicitated by the faculty members of the college.

During the session, Mr. Yash Pabale introduced students to the fundamentals of medical coding and explained its vital role in healthcare documentation, insurance claims processing, and revenue cycle management.

Mr. Ranajit Bhagat delivered an insightful presentation on the expanding career prospects for pharmacy and life science graduates in medical coding. He elaborated on industry expectations, certification pathways, essential coding systems such as ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS, placement opportunities, and career growth in multinational healthcare organizations.

The seminar was highly interactive, with students actively participating in the question-and-answer session. The speakers addressed various queries regarding eligibility, required training, certification, salary prospects, and future career advancement in the medical coding sector.
