An online meeting was convened on July 31st, 2024, by the TKMCE Malabar Alumni Chapter to address the aftermath of the Wayanad landslide. The meeting was attended by executive members of the TKMCE Malabar Alumni Chapter, Dr Sajeeb sir (TKMCE Principal), Dr Ayoob sir (TKM Executive Director), Dr Haroon sir (TKM Trust member), Dr Sudheer sir (Alumni Affairs Dean) and some of our Alumni who all are currently in Wayanad. The primary focus of the meeting was to assess the situation and develop relief plans.
It was decided to create a database to contact TKM alumni, government officials, victims, and students in Wayanad to gather feedback. Based on this feedback, an initiative called "Back to School" is being planned to provide school kits for children by understanding their specific needs. The meeting also highlighted the importance of supporting the reconstruction of schools and the construction of houses for those in urgent need. A school block could be constructed to help with the rebuilding efforts. For housing, the plan includes identifying safe lands and constructing a minimum of 10 houses, with one being allocated for a needy alumni member.
Principal , TKM Trust and other teachers have offered their full support for these initiatives. We emphasize the need to identify the exact requirements of the victims to ensure genuine assistance is provided.
