Graphic Era Hill University is a fast growing university with a sprawling campus located in the serene and scenic valley of Dehradun, nestled in the foot-hills of the Himalayas. Located near the cantonment area, along the Rajaji National Park with a backdrop of Shivalik Hills, the university offers the perfect ambience for all academic pursuits. The Graphic Era Hill University was established in 2011 by an act (Act No. 12 of 2011) passed by Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly in April 2011. Fashion design in India has come a long way and given the vibrant economy and dynamic market forces, the fashion industry is only expected to grow exponentially. In view of this there is a growing need for fashion designers who are professionally trained. The Bachelor of Design (Fashion Design) is a four years duration under-graduate degree programme offered by Graphic Era Hill University, Dehradun. This programme provides focused inputs on fashion and apparel design. It imbibes the ability to inculcate creativity along with an understanding of textiles, ornamentation techniques, garment construction and manufacturing techniques in tandem with the industry requirements, where design is the integral and focus of attention. Department of Fashion Design is aimed at creating professionals who can contribute effectively in the ever-changing, dynamic, highly challenging and competitive world of fashion. The curriculum aims at inculcating design and business acumen focusing on all areas of fashion industry including segments ranging from exports, High Fashion to Ready-to-wear lines for the flourishing Indian Brands.

Through hands-on exploration, our participants discovered how simple fabrics can become meaningful expressions of craft, culture, creativity, and individuality. From the rhythm of the block to the delicate movement of the needle, every creation carried a story. ❤️
