World Blood Donor Day is observed globally and locally on June 14 every year. The annual event honors voluntary, unpaid blood donors and highlights the critical importance of a safe and reliable blood supply for emergencies, cancer treatments, surgeries, and maternal care. The official World Health Organization (WHO) campaign slogan is "One Drop of Humanity. Give Blood. Save Lives.". It serves as a reminder that a single voluntary donation of blood or plasma is a powerful act of compassion and solidarity. Why June 14 Matters? The date was chosen specifically to mark the birth anniversary of Karl Landsteiner, the Nobel Prize-winning scientist who discovered the ABO blood group system. His breakthrough fundamentally revolutionized transfusion medicine and modern blood banking. The theme places humanity at the heart of every donation, framing it not just as a medical act, but as a powerful expression of compassion, solidarity, and collective responsibility.

At Sarah Institute of Medical Sciences Bandipora, we recognize that quality clinical partnerships are essential for meaningful hands-on learning starting from first semester. That’s why we have established strategic relationships with leading healthcare networks including Government Medical Colleges throughout Jammu & Kashmir.
Nursing is fundamentally a hands-on profession. While textbooks and lectures provide essential theoretical knowledge, the real learning happens when students step into clinical settings and work directly with patients. Clinical experience refers to the supervised, hands-on learning that nursing students receive in actual healthcare settings. This practical training allows students to apply their classroom knowledge while working with real patients, healthcare teams, and medical equipment.
