*🌟 World Breastfeeding Week 2026 Celebration🌟*
*Apollo College of Nursing, Anjora, Durg*
From August 1st to 7th, 2026, Apollo College of Nursing commemorated *World Breastfeeding Week* under the global theme: "Breastfeeding for a sustainable start in life: Strengthen what works." Across the seven days, faculty and students led a range of educational, awareness, and community outreach initiatives:
* *Day 1 (Inauguration & Rally):* The event launched with an inaugural pledge, followed by a public awareness rally to Bazar Chowk Anjora alongside local police officials to promote breastfeeding and de-addiction.
* *Day 2 (Community Role Play):* Students performed an engaging role play in Anjora to debunk infant feeding myths and educate families on proper attachment, exclusive breastfeeding, and postnatal nutrition.
* *Day 3 (Nukkad Natak):* An interactive street play was conducted in Potiyakala (covering 30,000–50,000 residents) emphasizing family support and maternal care.
* *Day 4 (Hospital Demonstrations & Expert Workshop):* B.Sc. Nursing students demonstrated the 10 steps of successful breastfeeding, breast pump usage, and Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) to OPD/ward mothers at JLN Hospital, Sector 9. Pediatric and neonatology specialists also hosted an interactive workshop for nursing students.
* *Day 5 (Quiz & Interactive Session):* A competitive quiz evaluated and strengthened students' clinical knowledge on maternal care and infant nutrition.
* *Day 6 (M.Sc. Seminar):* Post-graduate students led an in-depth seminar covering management of breast complications and the clinical benefits of KMC for preterm infants.
* *Day 7 (Valedictory & Competitions):* The week concluded with poster, slogan, and Rangoli competitions, an expert panel discussion, and a formal valedictory ceremony felicitating student achievements.
