" *Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat" Programme*
On 19 July 2026, I had the privilege of participating in the *"Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat"* programme organized by the NSS Unit, Malda College, under the initiative of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.
The programme began with the National Anthem, followed by the singing of "Vande Mataram." The respected guests, faculty members, NSS Programme Officers, volunteers, and students were warmly welcomed. The Principal of Malda College delivered the welcome address and warmly received the *_Hon'ble Member of Parliament, Shri Khagen Murmu,*_ along with the other distinguished guests. The speakers emphasized the importance of a drug-free society and encouraged young people to become responsible citizens who contribute to the development of the nation.
As an NSS volunteer from Gour Mahavidyalaya, I felt proud to be a part of this meaningful programme. The awareness sessions helped me understand the serious physical, mental, and social consequences of drug addiction. I also took the *_Nasha Mukt Bharat pledge,_* promising to stay away from all forms of addiction and to spread awareness among my family, friends, and the community.
This programme strengthened my belief that every NSS volunteer has a responsibility to promote healthy living and inspire others to make positive choices. It was an informative, inspiring, and memorable experience that motivated me to work actively for a drug-free and developed India.
