🌿 Continuing the Spirit of World Physiotherapy Day! 🌿

As a continuation of our World Physiotherapy Day celebrations, NEF College of Health Sciences (NEFCOHS) organised a One-Day Free Health Camp 🩺✨

The camp provided the community with free health assessment, physiotherapy consultation, treatment, and health education. Our dedicated faculty and students actively participated in assessing patients and providing appropriate physiotherapy care and guidance.

Through this initiative, we aimed to promote early intervention, pain management, functional recovery, and awareness about the role of Physiotherapy in maintaining a healthy and active life.

🎭The student skit focused on creating awareness about physiotherapy and addressing common misconceptions surrounding the profession. Through an engaging and relatable performance, our students highlighted the importance of physiotherapy in prevention, rehabilitation, pain management, functional recovery and improving quality of life, while showing that physiotherapy is much more than simply exercise. 💙
The event was a wonderful blend of learning, creativity, teamwork and celebration, showcasing the talent and enthusiasm of our students.

Day 3 | 19 July 2026
The third day of the NMLPW 2026 celebrations featured the second day of the Scientific Session, which was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Anupam Sarma, Professor & Head, Department of Oncopathology, Dr. B. Borooah Cancer Institute (BBCI), who highlighted the vital role of laboratory professionals in modern healthcare.
The scientific session featured distinguished guest speakers who delivered insightful lectures on various aspects of laboratory medicine:

* Dr. Manoj Barman – Assistant Professor & In-Charge, Super Specialty Hospital Laboratory, Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Guwahati

* Prof. (Dr.) Dipankar Baruah – Professor & In-Charge, Blood Bank, Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Guwahati

* Prof. (Dr.) Rashmisnata Barman – Professor & In-Charge, Department of Microbiology, Dr. B. Borooah Cancer Institute (BBCI), Guwahati

* Dr. Elteza T. Jahir – Associate Professor, Department of Biochemistry, Bongaigaon Medical College and Hospital (BMCH)
The session was chaired by Prof. (Dr.) Ajanta Sharma, Professor, Department of Microbiology, GMCH, Guwahati.

Closing Ceremony & Prize Distribution
The closing ceremony was chaired by Mr. Dinabandhu Deka, President, AAMLTA, with Dr. Pallabi Goswami, Principal, NEFCOHS, delivering the welcome address.

The concluding cultural programme was inaugurated by

Chief Guest Dr. Anjan Jyoti Choudhury, an eminent Katha Sahityik and renowned pathologist. The programme began with a choral performance by the MLT students of NEFCOHS, followed by vibrant singing and dance performances by students from different colleges, showcasing their talent and cultural diversity.

The event concluded with a warm sense of togetherness, marking a memorable and successful conclusion to the three-day NMLPW 2026 celebrations.

Day 2 | 18 July 2026
The second day of the NMLPW 2026 celebrations at NEF College of Health Sciences featured a series of engaging academic, scientific, sports, and social activities. The day began with a Tree Plantation Drive, during which plants were planted across the campus.

* Sports Competition: An exciting sports competition was organized, featuring various events with enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and staff.

* Blood Donation Camp: A blood donation camp was organized in collaboration with BBCI and GMCH, highlighting the importance of voluntary blood donation and community service.

* Poster Presentation Competition: Students showcased their scientific knowledge, creativity, and research interests through a poster presentation competition.

* Scientific Seminar: The seminar commenced with an opening address by Dr. Pankaj Kaul, Chairman of AAHC, Guwahati. The scientific session was chaired by Prof. (Dr.) Firdusi Begum, Professor & Head, Department of Biochemistry, Nagaon Medical College and Hospital.

The seminar featured insightful presentations by:

* Ms. Kasturi Bhagawati – Academic Faculty, LGB Regional Institute of Mental Health, Tezpur – Speaker

* Dr. Nipan Das – Medical Technologist, NEIGRIHMS, Shillong – Speaker

* Dr. (Mrs.) Shila Kumari Singh – Assistant Professor & Associate Dean, Allied & Healthcare Sciences, Assam Down Town University – Speaker

The Scientific Seminar provided an enriching platform for students to gain knowledge, explore research, and embrace innovation in the field of Medical Laboratory Science.
