The Department of Business Administration, University of Science & Technology Meghalaya (USTM), in collaboration with DKMS, Bangalore, organised a Blood Stem Cell Donation Awareness Sessionunder an MoU through the NSS Cell on 8th October 2026 at PIMC.

The initiative aimed to raise awareness about blood stem cell donation and its life-saving potential in the fight against blood cancer. As a meaningful step towards this cause, students came forward and registered themselves as potential stem cell donors, demonstrating their commitment to saving lives and spreading hope.

Dr. Sukriti Das, Assistant Professor, Department of Business Administration, USTM, in collaboration with Dr. Happyson Gachuiwo, Assistant Professor, University of Allahabad, presented a research paper titled “Localisation of Sustainable Development Goals (LSDGs): The Role of Panchayati Raj Institutions in Rural Development with Reference to North-East, Assam.”

The paper was presented at the International Seminar on “Creating Resilient Business Ecosystems in the Current Geo-Political Environment,” organised by the Department of Commerce, Gauhati University, and sponsored by NABARD, on 6–7 October 2026. The study highlights the role of Panchayati Raj Institutions in advancing the SDGs through locally relevant and sustainable rural development initiatives in Assam and the North-Eastern region.
