It was heartwarming to see our alumni take the centre stage today in covering the Assam elections. Whether in front of the camera or working tirelessly behind the scenes, their collective effort brought the story of democracy to life with clarity, credibility and impact.

From reporters and anchors to producers, editors, camerapersons, and technical teams - each role was crucial and our alumni excelled in every space. Their professionalism, teamwork, and commitment to truthful storytelling truly reflect the values of our department.

We mourn the demise of veteran journalist, writer, and former Editor of Asomiya Pratidin, Shri Nitya Bora. He will be remembered not only for his immense contribution to journalism, but also for enriching Assamese literature.

We fondly remember his visits to the Department of Mass Communication, Journalism and Media Studies (MCJMS), Cotton University, as a Resource Person, where he inspired young minds with his vast experience and insights.

Our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and admirers. May his soul rest in peace.
