Assam Football: Where Dreams Disappear

Proud to share the work of our student Joshika Das, whose mini-documentary for NEZINE, produced as part of her internship, explores why the journey of young footballers in Assam often breaks midway and the ground realities of pursuing football as a career.

A beautiful example of journalism that looks closely, listens deeply, and tells stories that matter.

Congratulations, Joshika!

The Department of Mass Communication, Journalism & Media Studies, Cotton University, proudly congratulates Shri Dip Bhuyan on winning the Harishadhan Dasgupta Silver Award for 2nd Best Documentary at the 5th World Film Festival Kolkata 2026 for his documentary ‘River Still Flows’.

Your remarkable achievement is a celebration of powerful storytelling and creative excellence. The Department is so proud to be associated with you and your inspiring work. Wishing you many more accolades and milestones ahead!

‘River Still Flows’ captures the devastating 2022 Assam floods in Nagaon, where incessant monsoon rains and water released from upstream dams transform the rivers into forces of destruction, while highlighting nature’s supremacy and the resilience of communities facing adversity.
