Architectural Documentation Trip to Sri Sri Parihareshwar Temple at Dubi, Pathsala (Assam), India
The 5th semester Architecture students at Royal School of Architecture, Royal Global University, Guwahati has visited the Sri Sri Parihareshwar Temple at Dubi, Pathsala (Assam) on 20th November2025, for a conservation documentation trip in collaboration with ICOMOS.
Upon arrival at Sri Sri Parihareshwar Temple the team received a comprehensive briefing from Dr. Hari Prasad Agarwal. Rohini Kumar Sarma, the Doloi (Secretary) of the temple, provided insights into its historical and mythological significance. Students engaged in detailed documentation, including architectural analysis, boundary verification, and capturing intricate carvings through sketching, photography, and videography. Throughout the trip, students conducted detailed architectural studies, contextual analyses, and interviews with local historians and temple caretakers
It was a productive and enriching experience for the students, supported by faculty member Prof. Dr. Hari Prasad Agarwal. Dilip Changkakoty, ICOMOS-Northeast Zonal Coordinator Cum Expert member, ICICH (International committee of Intangible Cultural Heritage) & Associate member, ICTC (International committee of Cultural Tourism), Dilip Changkakoty has also shared his expertise with the students. This hands-on experience enhanced the students' skills in architectural documentation and deepened their appreciation of the temple's rich cultural tapestry.
