Spreading Smiles, Strengthening Humanity 🤝✨
The NSS Unit–5 of Gautam Buddha University successfully organized a Donation Drive across various slum areas of Greater Noida with the objective of reinforcing social service and human values.
The initiative aimed to support underprivileged families and children while nurturing a spirit of service, empathy, and social responsibility among students. Clothes, stationery, food items, and juice collected by students and faculty members were distributed to those in need. Special attention was given to economically weaker children by providing notebooks, pencils, pens, and colors to help them continue their education without interruption.
Head of the Department, Dr. Rakesh Kumar Srivastava, appreciated the commendable efforts of the students, emphasizing that such initiatives cultivate leadership, compassion, and a deep sense of responsibility. Program Officer of NSS Unit–5, Dr. Shruti Kanwar, highlighted that acts of donation are powerful instruments for strengthening social awareness and humanitarian values among youth.
Participants were also sensitized to understand the needs of marginalized communities and the importance of responsible resource utilization. The drive concluded with a collective pledge to continue serving the weaker sections of society and to uphold the values of humanity in everyday life.
The event witnessed the gracious presence of Dr. Yashwant Kumar, Dr. Pooja Jain (Community Service Club Coordinators), Dr. Shruti Kanwar (Program Officer, NSS Unit–5), and dedicated members of NSS and the Community Service Club.
Heartfelt gratitude to Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Rana Pratap Singh, Dean of Student Welfare Dr. Manmohan Singh, Dean of Humanities & Social Sciences Dr. Madhav Govind, and NSS Coordinator Dr. Gaurav Kumar for their constant guidance and support in making this initiative a success.
