Noida International University successfully hosted the Grand Internal Hackathon for Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2026, organized under NSSIP – NIU Student Startup and Innovation Program as a simulation of the SIH National Finale.

The journey began with a pre-event workshop on 8 September, followed by the Grand Hackathon on 12 September 2026

400+ innovators | 17 themes | 50 problem statements | 6 hours of innovation

The event was graced by Chief Guests Hon’ble Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Vikram Singh and Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Uma Bhardwaj, along with Guest of Honour Registrar Prof. (Dr.) Mukesh Parashar, Deans and Directors.

Convener Prof. (Dr.) B. Rajanarayan Prusty, Dean - Research and Innovation, highlighted the students’ focus on five national thrust areas: MedTech, Disaster Management, Blockchain & Cyber Security, Agriculture and Smart Automation, aligned with NIU’s 10 Research Thrust Areas, 37 Clusters and the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

The hackathon featured 3 hours of intensive mentoring and 3 hours of rigorous evaluation by three domain-mapped expert jury panels, two Software and one Hardware - following SIH evaluation standards with transparent, live score displays.

Four top-scoring teams - two Hardware and two Software - were awarded for scalable solutions across MedTech/BioTech/HealthTech, Agriculture/FoodTech/Rural Development, and Transportation/Logistics. All 50 teams received participation certificates, while deserving teams will be nominated for the SIH 2026 Grand Finale.

Heartfelt gratitude to Hon’ble Chairman Dr. Devesh Kumar Singh, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Uma Bhardwaj, the support teams, volunteers and anchor for strengthening NIU’s future-ready innovation ecosystem.

A gracious gift and a priceless addition to our collection!

Noida International University is deeply grateful to Dr. Sujay Kantawala Sir for the copies of his newly launched book, The Verdict: Who Killed Sonia Verma?, published by Penguin Random House.

On behalf of the author, the copies were graciously presented by our Honourable Chancellor Prof. Dr. Vikram Singh Sir. We sincerely appreciate this thoughtful gesture and look forward to exploring this compelling work.
