The 4th Convocation Ceremony of The Assam Royal Global University (RGU) was held on 30th November, 2024, with great pomp and grandeur at the university campus in Guwahati. The prestigious event was presided over by the Visitor of the University, Hon'ble Governor of Assam- Sri Lakshman Prasad Acharya. The ceremony was graced by Sri Piyush Goyal, the Hon'ble Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, alongside other distinguished dignitaries, including Dr. Ranoj Pegu, Hon'ble Education Minister of Assam, and Sri Bimal Borah, Hon'ble Minister for Industries and Commerce, Assam.
Renowned for its commitment to academic excellence and holistic development. With state-of-the-art infrastructure, a diverse academic curriculum, and a strong emphasis on innovation, Royal Global University prepares its students for leadership roles in various sectors. The university continues to be a symbol of academic rigor and a hub for nurturing future leaders and changemakers. A total of 1502 Royalites were awarded degrees and diplomas during the event. These included 771 Undergraduates, 651 Postgraduates, and 25 Ph.D. graduates, marking a significant achievement in the academic journey of the students. The ceremony also recognized outstanding academic and extracurricular accomplishments. 50 Gold Medals, 50 Silver Medals, and 2 Chancellorās Gold Medals were presented to exceptional students. Additionally, 5 Salvers and Medals were awarded to Royalites excelling in various domains such as Literary Activities, Cultural Activities, Community Service, Mentoring, and Sports.
The university conferred honorary degrees to four distinguished individuals for their exceptional contributions to society and their respective fields:
Doctor of Laws (LL.D.) to Hon'ble Mr. Justice Ranjan Gogoi, former Chief Justice of India
Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) to Padma Vibhushan Awardee Dr. Raghunath Anant Mashelkar, renowned scientist and former Director General of CSIR
Doctor of Letters (D.Litt.) to Padmashree Awardee Sri Harshavardhan Neotia, Chairman of Ambuja Neotia Group
Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) to Padma Vibhushan Awardee Dr. Krishnaswamy Kasturirangan, former Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
