🎙️ The Talk | 9th Edition at RSCOM 🎉

The Royal School of Communications and Media (RSCOM) successfully hosted the 9th edition of ‘The Talk’ on 25th February 2025, providing an engaging platform for students to voice their perspectives on diverse topics.

Discussions ranged from the “Unfiltered Reality of Gen-Z” to “The Importance of Art in Our Life”, “The Essence of Inter-Religious Relationships”, “The Necessity of Character Development”, and the contrast between FOMO vs. JOMO—sparking insightful conversations!

The event was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Suresh Chandra Nayak, Dean I/c, RSCOM, and Dr. Florence Handique Rabha, HOD, RSCOM. Congratulations to Debarati Sarker for winning the Best Speaker title! 🏆👏

In a first in any private education institute across Assam, BSNL installed a 5G ready 4G Mobile BTS at Royal Global University, today.

This BTS was inaugurated by Prof. Y.S.R. Murthy, Vice Chancellor, Royal Global University in the august presence of Sri S.K. Chaurasia, ITS GM BSNL, Prof. Alak K. Buragohain, Chairperson Academics and other senior members of the varsity fraternity aling with BSNL Officers.

The 4G BTS installed by BSNL is from its Atmanirbhar 4G technology stack, a technology that has catapulted India to the league of select Nations having their own indigenously developed telecom gear- only 5th in the world.

Royal Global University has allocated space in the GHI block for the installation, which will enhance BSNL connectivity on campus and in surrounding areas, benefiting both students and residents with improved mobile coverage.

The 4th Convocation Ceremony of The Assam Royal Global University (RGU) was held on 30th November, 2024, with great pomp and grandeur at the university campus in Guwahati. The prestigious event was presided over by the Visitor of the University, Hon'ble Governor of Assam- Sri Lakshman Prasad Acharya. The ceremony was graced by Sri Piyush Goyal, the Hon'ble Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, alongside other distinguished dignitaries, including Dr. Ranoj Pegu, Hon'ble Education Minister of Assam, and Sri Bimal Borah, Hon'ble Minister for Industries and Commerce, Assam.

Renowned for its commitment to academic excellence and holistic development. With state-of-the-art infrastructure, a diverse academic curriculum, and a strong emphasis on innovation, Royal Global University prepares its students for leadership roles in various sectors. The university continues to be a symbol of academic rigor and a hub for nurturing future leaders and changemakers. A total of 1502 Royalites were awarded degrees and diplomas during the event. These included 771 Undergraduates, 651 Postgraduates, and 25 Ph.D. graduates, marking a significant achievement in the academic journey of the students. The ceremony also recognized outstanding academic and extracurricular accomplishments. 50 Gold Medals, 50 Silver Medals, and 2 Chancellor’s Gold Medals were presented to exceptional students. Additionally, 5 Salvers and Medals were awarded to Royalites excelling in various domains such as Literary Activities, Cultural Activities, Community Service, Mentoring, and Sports.

The university conferred honorary degrees to four distinguished individuals for their exceptional contributions to society and their respective fields:

Doctor of Laws (LL.D.) to Hon'ble Mr. Justice Ranjan Gogoi, former Chief Justice of India

Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) to Padma Vibhushan Awardee Dr. Raghunath Anant Mashelkar, renowned scientist and former Director General of CSIR

Doctor of Letters (D.Litt.) to Padmashree Awardee Sri Harshavardhan Neotia, Chairman of Ambuja Neotia Group

Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) to Padma Vibhushan Awardee Dr. Krishnaswamy Kasturirangan, former Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
