Started in 2002, the department is a major academic host offering all degree programmes such as B.Tech., M.Tech. The department offers Petroleum Science and Technology (PST) and Materials Science and Technology (MST) as specialization in the master degree course. Presently, the department is endowed with 36 young, vibrant and dynamic faculty well qualified to impart high quality teaching and resea

rch in conventional and frontier areas of Chemical Engineering and Petroleum Refinery Engineering. The major research areas include Catalysis and Reaction Engineering, Process Systems Engineering, Transfer Operations, Fluid Dynamics, Refinery Engineering, Thermodynamics, Environmental Engineering and Unconventional Energy Sources. Also, the faculty of the department are actively involved in various sponsored and consultancy projects from the external agencies such as DST,CSIR DBT,OIL India,NTPC,BRNS and ONGC.
