A hands-on workshop on Bread Making and Microbial Fermentation was successfully conducted on 21st May 2026 at the Institute of Hotel Management in collaboration with the Department of Biotechnology/Microbiology and SRM University Delhi-NCR, Sonepat.

The workshop highlighted the scientific principles of microbial fermentation, emphasizing the role of yeast metabolism, enzymatic activity, and biochemical transformations involved in bread production. Participants gained practical exposure to fermentation techniques, dough development, and the industrial relevance of microorganisms in food biotechnology.

🌟 Industry–Academia Visit Highlight | Hands-on Training & Workshop 2026 🌟

The Department of Biotechnology and Microbiology successfully concluded its three-day Hands-on Training and Workshop on Basic Laboratory Techniques (18–20 February 2026) with an enriching industry–academia visit to the CRF-SATHI Centre at IIT Delhi.

This visit provided participants with first-hand exposure to state-of-the-art analytical and imaging facilities, including Automated Confocal Imaging, High-Resolution Transmission Electron Microscopy (HR-TEM), Flow Cytometry (FACS), Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), and Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR). Experts demonstrated the applications of these high-end platforms in advanced biomedical, nanotechnology, and translational research.

The visit significantly enhanced participants’ understanding of sophisticated instrumentation, bridging academic learning with real-world research infrastructure and strengthening their technical competence and research vision.
