🎓 Farewell Party 2026 – Department of Mechanical Engineering

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, RTE Society’s Rural Engineering College, Hulkoti, organized a farewell party for the outgoing students in the Seminar Hall.

The programme was graced by Shri Sachin D. Patil, Secretary, RTE Society; Dr. V. M. Patil, Administrator; Dr. K. H. Odugoudar, Guest of Honour; and Dr. B. N. Patil, Principal, REC Hulkoti.

The dignitaries addressed the students and encouraged them to build strong alumni connections, upgrade their skills in AI, coding, sensors, software, and design technologies, and make use of the wide opportunities available for Mechanical Engineers in India and abroad.

The event began with a prayer song and watering of the plant by the dignitaries. Mr. Roylen, an outgoing student, shared his experiences and memories. Dr. K. R. Gagal, Head of the Department, recalled the vision of the Founder Chairman and wished the students success in their future careers.

The programme was anchored by Miss Tejashwini, and the vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Sohail Hombal.

🚁 **Drone Orientation Programme Organized at REC Hulkoti**

R.T.E. Society’s Rural Engineering College, Hulkoti, organized a **Drone Orientation Programme** in association with **Skyraft Aerosolutions Pvt. Ltd.**

The programme introduced students to drone technology, different types of drones, components, real-time applications, interdisciplinary engineering roles, project ideas and internship opportunities.

Mrs. Chandrika explained the fundamentals of drone technology, applications and the integration of different engineering branches in drone manufacturing. Mr. Shivakumar highlighted the role of Mechanical, Electronics, AI/ML, CSE, Electrical and Telecommunication Engineering in drone design, manufacturing, control, communication and operation.

Mr. Dinesh Badgandi also addressed the students and shared valuable insights on learning the right technologies at the right time, career opportunities, challenges of AI and rapid technological changes.

A live drone demonstration was conducted after the sessions. Shri Sachin D. Patil, Secretary, R.T.E. Society; Dr. V. M. Patil, Administrator; and Dr. B. N. Patil, Principal, experienced the drone operation. Students and staff witnessed the drone flying demonstration with great interest and enthusiasm.

R.T.E. Society’s Rural Engineering College, Hulkoti, proudly inaugurated the **Centre of Excellence – Drone Lab** in association with **Skyraft Aerosolutions Pvt. Ltd.** on 10th June 2026 at the COE Lab.

The programme was graced by **Shri Sachin D. Patil, Secretary, R.T.E. Society**, **Dr. V. M. Patil, Administrator, R.T.E. Society**, **Dr. B. N. Patil, Principal, REC Hulkoti**, **Capt. Girish Odugoudar, Founder & Managing Director, Skyraft Aerosolutions Pvt. Ltd.**, and **Mrs. Chandika**.

The Drone Lab has been established under the guidance of **Capt. Girish Odugoudar**, an alumnus of REC Hulkoti, with the vision of creating a strong drone ecosystem on campus. The initiative will provide students with hands-on exposure to drone design, fabrication, flying, guidance, and entrepreneurship opportunities.

The Centre of Excellence will benefit students from all departments and support interdisciplinary learning in emerging technologies.

RTE Society’s Rural Engineering College, Hulkoti, observed World Environment Day 2026 on 5th June 2026 with a meaningful programme aimed at creating awareness about environmental protection and sustainable waste management practices.

The programme highlighted the importance of environmental protection, tree plantation, and responsible waste management for building a cleaner and greener future.

The Department of Textile Technology, Rural Engineering College, Hulkoti organized an Industrial Visit to Karnataka Handloom Technology Institute, Narasapur on 05-06-2026 for B.Tech. IV Semester Textile Technology students.

The visit was conducted as part of the Weaving Technology-II Lab and provided students with practical exposure to the working of Single Lift Single Cylinder Jacquard, Piano Card Cutting Machine, card punching process, and assembly/disassembly of Jacquard parts.

The students were guided by Lecturer Ajaya Kumari and Department Incharge Staff Asst. Prof. Sainath.

Heartiest congratulations to Dr. V. M. Patil, former Principal of Rural Engineering College, Hulkoti, on taking charge as Administrator of R.T.E. Society.

RTE Society’s Rural Engineering College, Hulkoti organized REC Walkathon 2026 on the occasion of World No To***co Day to promote health, fitness, cleanliness, and awareness for a tobacco-free society.

Students, teaching staff, non-teaching staff, and NSS volunteers actively participated in the walkathon from Hulkoti to REC Hulkoti, spreading the message of a healthy and socially responsible lifestyle.
