Greetings !

It's renewal time \m/

It's time to renew for our next term, i.e from October to March. We are looking for prospective new members to the club who are genuinely interested in improving their public speaking and leadership skills. So, to those interested in joining the club, now is the time :)

For new members -

20$ - Admission Fee ( Only for the 1st time )
6$ for every month. And We pay for 6 months at a time.
So 6*6 = 36$
Total - 56$

The renewals are to be done by the last week for September. Interested students, please contact us ASAP.

It's a great moment for us... our VP-PR Kamakshi Vempati is representing our club at the division level contest for both ISC and Evaluation.... Congratulations TM Kamakshi for securing first place at Area level in both competition.

So fifty third session... all thanks to president uday who wanted to hold d session despite the rain n power failure.. a double dhamaka session it was wt uday winning table topics speaker and evaluator.. abhiram role player and table topics speaker... well v had many ties.. an amazing theme by the tmod abhiram about politics.. congo to anusha who broke her ice.. n tm mk who spoke of the Indian better half beaten down to ground.. it sure made us think.. an amazing session it was.. despite all d inevitables

RULES -

This Event will go on in a series of literary rounds.

ROUNDS:

Round 1: Written Test ( if there are more than 30 participants)
The participants would be administered 20 questions and the test duration would be 30 minutes.

Round 2: JAM ( 20 out of 30 participants would be shortlisted for the next round)
They need to speak on the topic that is given on the spot for 1 minute

Round 3: Group Discussion ( 8 out of 20 participants would be sent to the next round)

Round 4: Mock Press (Role Play) (4 out of 8 participants would be sent to the last round)

Round 5: Stress-Interview (The participants will be interviewed) (1 out of 4 candidates would be declared as the winner)

In a generation where the facebook language has become a habit and creative writing with correct vocabulary has become extinct. An event where every contestant will have to explore their thoughts, come up with innovative ideas and describe a situation or topic might sound challenging to some and alien to other, so here’s bringing you a reason to dust your imagination and use that massive vocabulary of yours!

RULES –

1. All the contestants will be given a topic/situation and they will have to carve a creative essay or story about it.

2. The time limit for the event is 45 minutes.

Brush up your writing skills! Because NOW is the time to do so !

RULES –

1. It is both, a group and solo event.

2. Participants can participate individually or in a group of max 2 people.

3. There will be two rounds i.e. Prelims and Finals.

Prelims –

1. The participants will be given a situation and they are supposed to submit a report within a given period of time.

2. The top few Team/individuals will be chosen for the final round.

Finals –

1. The qualified participants will be shown a video depicting an incident and they will have to write a report and submit it in a given period of time.

2. The best writer will be chosen as the winner.

Le' CONCLAVE – Group Discussion

In a Conclave, It’s not just about how well you speak, but it’s also about how well you listen and the trick to stand out amongst the crowd is to be able to get your point across as the most intriguing and unbiased.

Please come prepared with current affairs, burning issues, recent trends and other general topics

RULES –

This contest will consist of 2 rounds- a preliminary round and a final round.

THE PROCEDURE WILL BE EXPLAINED IN DETAIL AT THE BEGINNING OF THE PROGRAM.

Prelims -

1. All the participants will be first divided into teams of number depending on the number of participants.
2. Each group will be provided with a topic for discussion.
3. In this round every team gets 7-10 minutes to discuss about the topics
4. Participants from each group will be selected for the next round based on their validity of points, ability to convince the group of their points and their attitude toward other speakers of the group.
5. These selected participants will be sent to the next round.

Final Round -

1. All the participants selected from the first round will be put into one group.
2. These participants will again be given a topic to be discussed
3. The final round will be 10-15 minutes long.

JAM - A Minute to Win It

In this mind numbing battle of wits, all contestants will have just one chance and a single minute to prove their mettle.

RULES –

1. The event will have only one round.

2. Each participant will be given a random topic.

3. Each participant will be provided with one minute after receiving the topic to prepare for his/her speech and this will be done while the predecessor is speaking.

4. The Speaker must avoid stammering, stuttering and pausing incessantly, he/she will be judged based on their fluidity of speech, diction and validity of points mentioned.

5. The participant has only one minute to voice his/her opinions about the topic and no extra time will be given.

Literary Event -

DEBATE:

A platform where contestants are given an opportunity to state their opinions on different issues, discuss it in all possible ways and then come up with a conclusion. This is an event where you can apply your thinking strategically to try and influence other people’s opinions.

To make it easy for the participants, WE WILL BE RELEASING THE POSSIBLE TOPICS FOR DEBATE ON TUESDAY so that they can come prepared and have a debate with valid points and better standard.

RULES -

1. Participation will be in teams of two. At a time two teams will be debating on one topic with each other; one team will be for the motion and the other against it, the team will be told on the spot if they will have to talk FOR or AGAINST.

2. The event will be conducted in two rounds, prelims and final. The time limit for both the rounds is 5-7 minutes.

3. At the end there will also be a question and answer round from either the judges or other contestants regarding the given.

4. THE PROCEDURE WILL BE EXPLAINED IN DETAIL AT THE BEGINNING OF THE PROGRAM.

The participants are supposed to justify themselves and get out of a given situation.

Finals -

It was LEGEN - Wait for it - DARY !
The 50th session will stay with us forever. A session, i bet not a single TM who attended would forget today's session :) A wonderful job by just not the EC but also the other member's.
To all the guests, Thank you soo much for sparing your valuable time and travelling all the way to Vignan institute of technology and science and also on the " Soft road "
But then, every cloud has a silver lining. I hope ya'l enjoyed the Free Massage ;)
Anyways, seriously. Thank you :) It was great having you guy's there.
