"When my friend booked an Uber for me on the last day, this lady came to pick me up. After the ride started, I noticed a kid sleeping in the front seat. I could not resist asking:
Ma'am, is that your daughter?

Yes, sir, my daughter and she is on vacation now; hence I am working and babysitting together.
I was curious, so I wanted to know more.

Her name is Nandini, and she drives a cab in Bangalore. She wanted to be an entrepreneur and started a food truck a few years back with all her savings. But then covid hit, and she lost all the money she had invested.

Post that, she started driving a cab. She works 12 hours a day and tells me she doesn’t mind working more if she has to. She wanted to save money and rebuild everything she had lost.

When the trip ended, I asked if I could take a pic with her and post her story online. She asked me why.

I said: “Ma'am, you have a very inspiring story; while many people get disheartened after a failure, you are a fighter and continue the fight till you win. I want to share your story with others. That is the least I could do.”

She smiled and agreed to this pic.

"I am living in heaven. Bengaluru is the best place in the world. By far," the original post read. "It is not just about nice and caring people."

Each year, November 7 marks the birth anniversary of Indian physicist Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman. He was born in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, on November 7, 1888. In his undergraduate degree examination at the University of Madras, he won a gold medal in Physics.

He later received his MSc degree with the highest distinction from the same university. CV Raman won the Nobel Prize in Physics for his work on the scattering of light and for the discovery of the Raman effect in 1930. He was awarded India’s highest civilian award, the Bharat Ratna, in 1954.

CV Raman was the first Indian, Asian and non-white individual to win a Nobel Prize for the sciences. In 1906, Raman published his first research paper on the diffraction of light while completing his graduation.

In 1933, Raman became the first Indian director of the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore. He remained in the post till 1937 and was the head of the physics department till 1948.

Throughout his life, CV Raman was the recipient of several awards, including the Lenin Peace Prize and the Franklin Medal.
