Overview
The Department of Criminology and Police Studies provides postgraduate academic and professionally oriented programmes for aspiring students and practiti

oners in the field of Criminal Justice. This course is an excellent blend of theoretical and applied criminology as it allows the students to apply their knowledge in criminology in various professions or fields like police services, social work and human rights which are contemporary and emerging fields which have a bright future. The department will offer students a wonderful opportunity to acquire experience by interaction with actual practitioners of this field which will help in the practical application of their growing criminological skills and expertise. Course outline The curriculum of the course is built on a common foundation of applied criminology and allows for maximum flexibility to meet the needs of the students and their respective areas of interest. In this approach, the courses will be individualized to meet the student’s professional goals in keeping with the overall objectives of the programs and practical aspects of the field in terms of employment. Eligibility Criteria
Graduate in any Discipline having 55% for General/OBC and 50% for SC/ST candidates. If one wants to obtain Master's degree as a suitable entry into the criminal justice professions with accurate professional knowledge and skills. For people employed in the criminal justice system especially in policing, who wants to acquire job related knowledge or broaden their perspectives. Those interested in a potential academic career with the element of inter-disciplinary approach in higher education including doctoral program.
