Pledge taking ceremony regarding Nasha Mukth Bharat:
A pledge under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan was solemnly administered during the morning assembly at Boys Higher Secondary School, Kangan, under the able supervision of the esteemed Principal.
The pledge was conducted by a faculty member of the institution, with wholehearted participation from all staff members and students. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the detrimental effects of drug abuse and to foster a collective commitment towards a drug-free society.
The programme concluded with a renewed sense of responsibility and determination to contribute towards the vision of a Nasha Mukt Bharat.

*Awareness Program under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan at BHSS Kangan*

On 12 March 2026, Boys Higher Secondary School (BHSS) Kangan, in collaboration with CRPF 49 Battalion, organized an awareness program under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA). The program aimed to sensitize students about the harmful effects of substance abuse and to promote a healthy, drug-free society.
The event featured informative sessions and awareness talks that conveyed strong messages against drug addiction. Senior officers from CRPF, including the Chief Guest Shri Arvind Kumar Solanki, Commandant 49 BN, and Shri Rajeev Tiwari, Second-in-Command, graced the occasion. Dr. Munawar Sultana and Dr. Dawod Ahmad from UJALA Hospital, Srinagar, also attended the program and shared valuable insights regarding the health consequences of substance abuse.
On the directions of the Worthy Principal Mr. Sajad Sahab, the school staff actively participated in the program. Among those present were Vice Principal Mr. Fayaz Sir and Senior Lecturer Mr. Nazir Ahmad Mir Sahab, who emphasized the importance of collective efforts in eradicating substance abuse.
Mir Mushtaq Sahab and Jamal-ud-Din Lone Sahab also graced the event and shared inspiring thoughts on the importance of building a drug-free society. Their words added depth to the program and motivated students to stay away from substance abuse and lead healthy, purposeful lives.
The event was organized by Mr. Javed Ahmad Bhat, Mr. Ayaz Abdullah, and other dedicated staff members, whose efforts ensured the successful conduct of the NMBA program. Later, the students and staff who participated in the program were awarded appreciation certificates in recognition of their involvement.
The program was expertly hosted by Mr. Azhar Nazir and Ms. Humayrah Tahir, who kept the audience engaged with their energetic and informative presentation.

A drug‑addiction awareness program was conducted by SHO Kangan, Inspector Younis Ahmad Khan, under the aegis of District Police Ganderbal at Boys Higher Secondary School (BHSS) Kangan as part of broader anti‑drug awareness drives in the district. The session targeted students and aimed to sensitize the youth about the physical, psychological, and social harms of substance abuse. Objectives of the programTo educate students about the ill‑effects of drugs, including loss of health, academic decline, and family breakdown. To promote a “Nasha Mukt” (drug‑free) lifestyle and encourage students to stay away from narcotics and other intoxicants. Main activities during the sessionSHO Kangan addressed the students, highlighting the growing menace of drug addiction among youth and the role of police in prevention and early intervention. Interactive talks, question‑answer rounds, and motivational messages were used to make the session engaging and youth‑oriented.
