Hoos in the Stairwell is a Broadway a capella group at the University of Virginia.

Hoos in the Stairwell is a co-ed musical theater a ca****la group providing singers from the university community with a chance to perform pieces from a variety of different musicals, as well as mash-ups with popular music. Performing in eclectic locations, the group takes advantage of the many acoustically interesting spaces around the University. Bringing dedicated students together, the group a

ims to introduce musical theater to the realm of a ca****la at UVA and in the greater Charlottesville community, as well as foster an appreciation for the genre and its versatility. Students will be given the chance to arrange their own music if they so desire, developing their understanding of musical theory and the genre of musical theater. Members will be involved in the administration of the group, organizing, publicizing, and developing relationships within the group and in the larger collegiate a ca****la community. Although this organization has members who are University of Virginia students and may have University employees associated or engaged in its activities and affairs, the organization is not a part of or an agency of the University. It is a separate and independent organization which is responsible for and manages its own activities and affairs. The University does not direct, supervise or control the organization and is not responsible for the organization’s contracts, acts or omissions.

Happy 20th Birthday to our newest Daniel, Danny Sweeney! Daniel is our resident Italian and one of the newest editions to our tenor section. Danny is always there for a laugh, a hug, or a chit chat. Though we are scared of the group becoming overrun with Daniels, we couldn’t be happier to call D Sweeney a HoosIT. Everyone wish Daniel a happy birthday!

Happiest of birthdays to our wonderful Aidan !! Aidan is a third year in his second semester of HoosITS (because he decided to leave us for Ireland last semester). We couldn’t imagine our group without him. Everyone wish Aidan a happy 21st!

Happy 20th Bird Day to Zoë “looks terrible in all singing pictures” Hall!! This is Zoë’s third semester in HoosITS and first semester as Pub Chair! *i wonder who could be posting this???* Zoë has an affinity for picking people up and sticking her tongue out in pictures, and a hatred for candid photos and posing on the left side of pictures.
