Kathua Campus Celebrated Republic Day-2026, Tributes to Martyrs
On 26th January, 2026, Kathua Campus, University of Jammu celebrated the 77th Republic Day.
The celebration commenced with a heartfelt tribute to the Veer Jawans who laid down their lives for the country’s independence and sovereignty. Members of the Campus community gathered to offer flowers and express their deep appreciation for the soldiers. The tribute highlighted the enduring respect and gratitude for the sacrifices made by these brave individuals.
The central event of the day was the flag unfurling ceremony, which took place in the lawns of Academic Block of Kathua Campus. Dr Rockey Gupta, Principal, UIET, Kathua Campus led the ceremony by unfurling the national flag which symbolizes the unity and sovereignty of the country. The flag unfurling ceremony was conducted by the Lieutenant Amit Sharma, Assistant Professor, Kathua Campus, along with the NCC cadets, followed by a powerful rendition of the national anthem by the university choir symbolizing the harmony and pride of the nation. A guard of honour was given to the Principal, UIET, Kathua Campus by the NCC cadets.
The programme was attended by Dr. Vivek Sharma, Academic Coordinator, Dr. Pankaj Khajuria, Assistant Registrar, Faculty members, staff, NCC cadets and students of UIET and Kathua Campus.
