We are proud to share that 18 students from the Department of Psychology attended the NAOP Convention 2026 at IIM Shillong.

We are especially delighted that students from Semester II as well as Semester IV presented their original research papers, showcasing their scholarly work on a national platform.

We would like to congratulate our students and encourage them to pursue their careers in research in the future. We wish them continued success in all their academic endeavors!

We were honored to host Prof. Anup Dhar for an enlightening lecture on the legacy of Girindrasekhar Bose at the Department of Psychology, West Bengal State University on 22nd December 2025 .

The session sparked vibrant discussions and deepened our understanding of Bose’s impact on psychology and Indian intellectual history. We are grateful to Prof. Dhar for illuminating us with his thought provoking lecture.

We were thrilled to host an insightful Special Lecture on “Unorganized Labour and Gig: All Encompassing Insecurity-Lived-Life Experiences
organized by the Department of Psychology, West Bengal State University!

Speaker, Journalist Swati Bhattacharjee, Senior Assistant Editor at Ananda Bazar Patrika & former President of South Asian Women in Media (SAWM) India, shared profound experiences and perspectives on the challenges faced by unorganized and gig workers on 18th December 2025.
The discussion highlighted the lived experiences of insecurity in the gig economy and inspired meaningful conversations on social and psychological impacts. Thank you to everyone who joined and made the event vibrant!

The students made posters and spoke to students from various other Departments at the university and told them about the Su***de Prevention Helplines and the pro bono counselling facilities available at the Department of Psychology WBSU for people in need.
