𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐛𝐲 𝟒 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐬 𝐁𝐍 𝐍𝐂𝐂, 𝐊𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞: 𝐅𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐫 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐥'𝐬 𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐜𝐲
4 Bengal Girls Battalion NCC, Kurseong College, orchestrated a remarkable event to celebrate National Unity Day, or "राष्ट्रीय एकता दिवस," on October 31, 2023, at the college's auditorium. The event marked an exceptional effort to honor the memory of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the "Iron Man of India," and promote the cherished values of unity and diversity.
Kurseong College's National Unity Day celebration was a resounding success, reinforcing the idea that unity in diversity is India's strength and identity. It was an occasion that paid homage to the legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel while inspiring the audience to embrace and promote the spirit of unity and diversity that defines our great nation. The event, with its captivating performances and stirring speeches, left an indelible mark on all those in attendance, emphasizing the pivotal role each citizen plays in preserving India's unity and diversity.
The programme, hosted by Cadet Soni Prasad, commenced with an enlightening opening address by Lieutenant Namrata Rai, the Associate NCC Officer (ANO) of the 4 Bengal Girls Battalion NCC. Lt. Rai eloquently emphasized the significance of National Unity Day and the enduring legacy of Sardar Patel. The event's artistic components were nothing short of captivating, commencing with a striking dance performances, songs, speeches and poem recitations by the cadets depicting the cultural diversity and unity of India, an exquisite testament to the country's rich heritage.
SUO Ashraf Jahan and Cdt. Abinasna shed light on the life and accomplishments of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, articulating his role in unifying India by merging the princely states. They delivered a speech underscoring the importance of National Unity Day and the obligation of every citizen to safeguard the nation's unity. Cadets’ heartfelt patriotic poem recitations evoked a deep sense of patriotism and unity.
Dr. Samir Bal, Principal of Kurseong College, took the podium to deliver an impactful speech, emphasizing the pivotal role of educational institutions in promoting unity and inculcating the values exemplified by Sardar Patel. He commended the NCC cadets for their diligent efforts in organizing such an inspirational event. Smt. Sharmistha Dam, Associate Professor and Ex NCC ANO congratulated and motivated all cadets. Dr. Samiksha S***a, Mr. Manabindu Das and PI Staff Hav.Dhiraj attended the programme.
The program reached its climax with a mesmerizing group dance performance titled "Unity Dance," presented by the 2nd and 3rd-year NCC cadets. Their performance symbolized the rich tapestry of India's cultural diversity and was met with thunderous applause from the audience. SUO Minu Chettri delivered the closing remarks, expressing gratitude to all participants, volunteers, and the audience for their invaluable contributions in making the event a resounding success. The grand finale of the event was the Unity Pledge, administered by SUO Ashraf Jahan, who called upon all attendees to solemnly pledge their commitment to preserving and upholding the unity and integrity of our beloved nation.
