भारत में 41% से अधिक ग्रामीण घरों में सुरक्षित रूप से पेयजल तक पहुंच नहीं है, जो महिलाओं के प्रति असमानताओं को उजागर करता है।

जल असुरक्षा महिलाओं और लड़कियों को असंगत रूप से प्रभावित करती है, जो जल संग्रहण का खामियाजा भुगतती हैं, जिससे उनके रोजमर्रा के जीवन, शिक्षा और मानसिक स्वास्थ्य पर असर पड़ता है।

स्वच्छ पानी की पहुंच की कमी को खुले में शौच की प्रथाओं से जोड़ते हैं, जिससे स्वास्थ्य समस्याएं पैदा होती हैं और महिलाओं के खिलाफ हिंसा का खतरा बढ़ जाता है।

जल जीवन मिशन का लक्ष्य नल कनेक्शन के माध्यम से घरेलू स्तर पर पीने के पानी की पहुंच सुनिश्चित करना, महिलाओं के कठिन परिश्रम को कम करना और सामुदायिक भागीदारी और पानी की गुणवत्ता की निगरानी के माध्यम से उन्हें सशक्त बनाना है।

तमिलनाडु में एक अध्ययन में पाया गया कि जेजेएम के सुरक्षित पेयजल के प्रावधान से महिलाओं का जल संग्रह पर खर्च होने वाला समय कम हो जाता है, जिससे बेहतर घरेलू प्रबंधन और मानसिक स्वास्थ्य सूचकांक में सुधार होता है।

Ocean Gate कंपनी पहले ही एफिडेविट ले चुकी थी कि अगर इस 8 घंटे के हैरतंगेज टूर में जान चली जाती है तो उसका कोई क्लेम भी नही होगा... सोचकर ही रोंगटे खड़े होते है के यह कैसा हैरतंगेज काम था जो लगभग एक सदी पहले डूब चुके टाइटैनिक जहाज का मलबा मात्र देखने का प्रोग्राम था... सोचकर देखो उस जगह पर हजार से ज्यादा लोगों की आत्मा भटक रही होगी और यह लोग अब उन्हीं आत्माओं के पास चले गए... अतः अपना पैसा और ऊर्जा अच्छे कार्यों पर खर्च करे !!
