What a day it turned out to be. What a gathering it became.

The JUAAM Annual Picnic unfolded exactly the way we had hoped for and then some. Bright winter sun, louder laughter, easy conversations, shared food, shared memories, and that rare, beautiful sight where yesterdays and tomorrows sat, walked, played, and bonded as one seamless family.

Seeing our senior alumni arrive with their families brought a quiet warmth to the day. Their presence carried stories, legacy, and a certain grace that only time can offer. And alongside them, our younger friends filled the space with infectious energy, endless stamina, and a spirit that kept the day buzzing. Different generations, one rhythm. That was the real highlight.

What stayed with us most were the smiles, the spontaneous addas, the wholehearted participation in games, and the sheer ease with which everyone slipped into joy. Moments like these make every bit of planning, running around, and last-minute problem-solving completely worth it.

This picnic was not just an event. It was a reminder of what JUAAM truly stands for. Connection. Continuity. Community.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who turned up in such great numbers, trusted us with their time, and made the day so memorable. Your encouragement means a great deal to the team. We take back valuable learnings, renewed enthusiasm, and the promise to return with even better-planned gatherings and a few pleasant surprises along the way.

Until then, stay connected, stay smiling, and keep the JUAAM spirit alive.

Bijoya Sammiloni 2025 | JUAAM

Under the warm autumn sun, laughter, memories, and melodies came together as we celebrated our Bijoya Sammiloni 2025, a day that truly embodied the spirit of togetherness.

The afternoon began on a soulful note with a tribute to our beloved Rajat Da, through a touching memorial video, reminding us that some bonds remain eternal, echoing in every smile and song.

What followed was an enchanting cultural journey.
Pushyoja, our youngest performer, charmed everyone with her sweet voice,
Shroyon, Chandralekha, and Anushyua filled the air with beautiful melodies,
Diptangshu’s mouth organ transported us to a world where music spoke beyond words, and the showstopper - a captivating Shruti Natok by Gora Da and Rina Boudi, who brought stories to life with their trademark brilliance and warmth.

As the rhythm of Bangla folk songs filled the air, voices joined in, feet followed the beat, and soon the hall turned into a joyful dance floor... a spontaneous celebration of camaraderie and joy!

The festivities ended on the most delicious note. A sumptuous Bengali lunch, wrapping up a day steeped in music, laughter, and shared memories.

(𝟮 𝑵𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓 𝟭𝟵𝟯𝟲 - 𝟭𝟴 𝑺𝒆𝒑𝒕𝒆𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱)

With deep sorrow and heavy hearts, we share the news of the passing of our beloved 𝑺𝒉𝒓𝒊 𝑹𝒂𝒋𝒂𝒕 𝑲𝒖𝒎𝒂𝒓 𝑫𝒂𝒔𝒈𝒖𝒑𝒕𝒂 (𝑹𝒂𝒋𝒂𝒕𝒅𝒂), who departed for his heavenly abode on the evening of 𝟭𝟴𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 at his residence in Kolkata. He was 𝟴𝟵 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 old.

Rajatda graduated in Mechanical Engineering from Jadavpur University in 1959 and became one of the most respected and cherished members of our alumni community. He served as 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗝𝗨𝗔𝗔𝗠 and 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗝𝗨 𝗠𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗮𝗶 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁, playing a pivotal role in shaping our Alumni Association in Mumbai into one of the most vibrant and admired chapters, making our Alma Mater proud.

To many of us, Rajatda was much more than a leader. He was a friend, philosopher, and guide. His wisdom, humility, and warmth affected every member of our community. His passing is an irreplaceable loss, and we, the members of the Jadavpur University Alumni Association Mumbai, mourn him profoundly.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Supriya Boudi, his two daughters, and the entire family. May the Almighty grant them strength and courage to cope with this loss.

Rajatda’s memory will live on in our hearts, in the work he inspired, and in the community he helped build.

We pray for the everlasting peace of the departed soul.

𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞: '𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐫 𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐚 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐨' – 𝐀 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐟𝐞𝐥𝐭 𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬!

On 𝟏𝟎𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓, the Maratha Sahitya Mandir Hall in Vashi, Navi Mumbai came alive with nostalgia, laughter, and the rhythm of memories as 𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐥 and the 𝐉𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐯𝐩𝐮𝐫 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐀𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐧𝐢 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐌𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐢 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐡, proudly presented ‘𝑷𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒃𝒊𝒓 𝑮𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒂 𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒐’ — a cultural programme that turned out to be an experience to cherish.

What began as a casual idea grew into a beautiful journey — filled with 𝐣𝐨𝐲𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐬, 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐨𝐬, and of course, 𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐩𝐭𝐮𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐁𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐝 that kept our spirits (and stomachs) full. Who could forget the generous servings of 𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐨𝐠𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐬, which sweetened even the most stressful script mix-ups?

Rehearsals were a world of their own — echoing with 𝐜𝐚𝐜𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, last-minute line changes, and the delightful challenge of managing kids who brought their own brand of magic (and mayhem!). But through it all, we grew — as performers, planners, and people. It was, in every sense, a learning experience and a celebration of our collective creativity.

A huge thank you to every member who poured their heart into this production, both on stage and behind the scenes. Your energy, patience, and passion made it all possible.

Celebrating a Century of Musical Genius – Salil Chowdhury Centenary Tribute by JUAAM

On 10th May, the Jadavpur University Alumni Association, Mumbai (JUAAM) paid a heartfelt tribute to the legendary Salil Chowdhury on his birth centenary at Maratha Sahitya Mandir, Vashi — and what a celebration it was!

Titled through the twin lenses of "Somoy" (Time) and "Jibon" (Life), the evening seamlessly blended soulful songs with storytelling that traced the maestro’s creative journey. Backed by an ensemble of brilliant singers, musicians, narrators, and announcers, the performance brought Salilda’s spirit alive on stage.

A special salute to our music director, Shurjo Bhattacharjee, for his passionate leadership, and to Dibyendu Chokraborty, the visionary behind the concept, whose meticulous scripting, planning, and ex*****on created a truly immersive experience.

Gratitude to President Rudranath Banerjee, and the entire young alumni team for their tireless efforts in making this event a grand success. Your energy and dedication shone through every moment.

From nostalgia to new memories — this celebration wasn’t just a program, it was a musical homage to a timeless genius, woven with love, reverence, and collective creativity.
