With the new academic year, St. Xavier’s College has taken a fresh look following the renovations of many campus facilities. Starting with the newly inaugurated classrooms in the College Annexe with large seating capacity, better projectors, air conditioning, and modern seating arrangements. These classrooms have been in use by various Programmes, especially for courses offered by MA Psychology, BAF, and MSc Big Data Analytics.

Along with this, the new common washrooms near the canteen have been completely revamped, giving them a very modern look. The solar panels on the Annexe and XIC rooftops (supported by Wallace Pharmaceuticals) have also been changed to help the college achieve its sustainability goals.

The landscaping of the garden at the entrance of the College (also supported by Wallace Pharmaceuticals) has also been revamped with additions of new flowering plants and landscaping, brightening up the mornings when students step on campus.

As the College continues to upgrade its campus facilities, alumni and well-wishers keen to support future infrastructural projects are warmly invited to connect with the Xavier Development Programme office ([email protected]).

We wish everyone a very Happy Independence Day! 🇮🇳

St Xavier's College, Mumbai celebrated the 80th Independence Day by hoisting the National Flag with the College Student Council, NCC Unit, staff and students on campus.

The day also marked the felicitation of the NCC cadets, who continue to be a source of pride for the country.

Principal, Prof. Dr. Karuna Gokarn, extended wishes for Independence Day and Parsi New Year and reminded the students that, “The India of tomorrow is not someone else’s responsibility, it is ours.” She called on the students to build a self-reliant, inclusive nation through entrepreneurship and innovation. She also spoke on the role of technology in making India more connected, and reflected on “Humaneness in the Age of Innovation,” the College’s theme for the year.

On 31 July 2026, St. Xavier's College, Mumbai celebrated Founder's Day on the Feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola with the Holy Eucharist, fellowship, vibrant cultural performances, the presentation of student scholarships for the Academic Year 2025–26 recognising academic excellence, and the release of the College Magazine for the Academic Year 2025–26.

Founder's Day honours the legacy of St. Ignatius of Loyola, whose vision of education, service, and the pursuit of excellence continues to inspire generations of Xavierites.

The celebrations were coordinated by the Extra-Curricular Committee (ECC), while the Holy Eucharist was coordinated by AICUF. The programme also included the introduction of the newly elected Student Council to the College community.

As an academic community rooted in Ignatian values, we continue to uphold this legacy by striving for excellence in education, fostering the holistic development of our students, and nurturing individuals who are committed to serving society with competence, conscience, compassion, and commitment.
