Historic milestone!

Students have voted for a true Leader; one who understands the grievances of all, without even being told to do so!

ITANAGAR, June 3: In a significant boost to higher education and indigenous research in Arunachal Pradesh, the State Government has assured the introduction of a dedicated fellowship scheme for APST (Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribe) scholars pursuing PhD programmes in government institutions within the state.

The assurance was given by Chief Minister Pema Khandu during a meeting with a delegation of the All Arunachal Pradesh Studentsโ€™ Union (AAPSU), led by president Meje Taku and general secretary Tator Mato Bui, along with central executive members, on Tuesday.

The fellowship proposal was among the key demands submitted by AAPSU through a comprehensive memorandum addressing issues related to education, youth welfare, indigenous rights and employment.

Speaking on the matter, Khandu acknowledged the importance of supporting indigenous scholars and promoting advanced research within the state.

โ€œAAPSU came forward with several important suggestions concerning education and youth welfare. One such proposal was the funding for APST scholars pursuing PhD programmes in government institutions within Arunachal Pradesh. I assured the delegation that the State Government will work towards providing financial support for our indigenous research scholars and encourage higher studies and academic excellence,โ€ the Chief Minister stated.

AAPSU welcomed the assurance, describing it as a long-overdue investment in the academic aspirations of tribal students and a crucial step towards strengthening research and knowledge production within Arunachal Pradesh.

The proposed fellowship is expected to provide financial assistance to APST research scholars, reducing economic barriers to higher education and encouraging greater participation in doctoral studies.

THE TRUE SON OF THE SOIL TAKES THE HELM: A VICTORY WRITTEN IN THE STARS!

They say a leader is not merely elected; he is forged in the fires of struggle and destined by the stars.

From the quiet, mist-covered trails of Kakukao, a remote village in East Kameng, to the highest office of our stateโ€™s apex student bodyโ€”the journey of Meje Taku is a living story of the power of a resilient spirit.

True leadership is often born in the depths of silence and sorrow. We remember the shadow of the last election, when Meje faced the ultimate test of characterโ€”losing his father in the very heat of the battle. In that moment of profound grief, he didn't just find the strength to survive; he found the soul to lead. Todayโ€™s victory as the 27th President of AAPSU is the harvest of the seeds of sacrifice sown in those darkest hours.

This is not just a political win. It is a philosophical revolution. By choosing a son of Kakukao, the scholars of RGU, NERIST, and our strongest DSUs have declared that the 'Mandate of the Mind' belongs to those who have walked the most difficult roads. You have proven that a remote village is not a limitationโ€”it is a sacred foundation.

To the man who knows the weight of a tear and the value of a promise: the title is temporary, but the duty is eternal. You aren't just occupying a post; you are carrying the hopes of every village boy who dreams of the capital and every scholar who demands integrity.

The son of Kakukao has risen. The sentinel of the frontier is here.

Congratulations, Meje Taku. Now, let the vision of the grassroots lead the way into a new era.

What we witnessed today in the counting of the institute ballot boxes of the ensuing AAPSU elections is nothing short of a student revolution.

By giving Meje Taku a thumping majority, the intellectual community of RGU, NERIST, NIT, APU, and JNC have sent a clear message: The era of hollow slogans is over!

Dear DSU leaders, the backbone and soul of AAPSU,

Letโ€™s unite and vote in large numbers for Meje Taku to ensure a powerful and inclusive AAPSU where every district gets the priority and progress it deserves!

RGU STUDENTS โ€” TODAY YOU VOTE.

Today is the day you get to decide: Are we settling, or are we fighting?

Look around. You see friends who didn't get into good hostels. You see talented classmates who don't know what comes after graduation. You see potential that's just... waiting. Waiting for someone to actually care. Waiting for someone to actually do something.

You've heard it all before. Elections come. Candidates smile and promise the moon. You vote. And then? Silence. Forgotten. Until the next election cycle rolls around.

But something is different this time.

Meje Taku didn't disappear. When the pandemic hit and RGU students were struggling to survive, he didn't make excuses. He fought. He negotiated. He brought 646 crore in scholarships. He stayed. He worked. And he never stopped believing that RGU students matter.

That's not a politician speaking. That's a promise kept.

Now he's asking for your vote again. Not because he wants power. Because he remembers what AAPSU is supposed to be: YOUR voice. YOUR shield. YOUR future.

And he's not asking with empty hands. He's bringing:

๐Ÿ’ช APST reservation in PhD and teaching positionsโ€”so your people lead in this university
๐Ÿ’ช APST reservation in government examsโ€”so when you pass, the jobs are yours
๐Ÿ’ช New subjects in colleges across the stateโ€”so no student is left behind because of where they're from
๐Ÿ’ช A full residential campusโ€”so you study safely, with dignity, without losing yourself to exhaustion
๐Ÿ’ช Career counseling that actually leads to jobsโ€”not just false hope
๐Ÿ’ช Real scholarshipsโ€”not empty promises
๐Ÿ’ช Clean water, safe hostels, a campus that feels like home

But here's what really matters: He's asking you to believe in yourselves.

Because that's what this election is. It's not about him. It's about whether RGU students believe they deserve better. Whether you believe your dreams matter. Whether you believe that a student union should fight for you, not use you.

Every single vote todayโ€”your voteโ€”sends a message. It says: We matter. Our future matters. And we're not settling.

Think about it. Three years from now, do you want to look back and say "I could have changed this" or "I actually did"?

Today, you have that power.

VOTE MEJE TAKU for AAPSU President.

Vote because you deserve a leader who remembers you. Vote because RGU students are not just a number on an attendance sheet. Vote because your dreams are big enough to be heard.

Your vote. Your voice. Your future.

Make it count.
