The oldest British School in South India, the Breeks Memorial Anglo-Indian School located in Charring Cross, Ootacamund, Nilgiris,Tamil Nadu, India, is named after Sir James Wilkinson Breeks, the first Commissioner of the Nilgiris. The school was erected by public subscription, shortly after his death, for the children of poor Europeans and Eurasians, as a memorial of his services to the Nilgiris

community. The School regularly obtains excellent results at both Anglo Indian and the CBSC competitive Levels. This collaborative effort is a journey that begins at the Primary level and continues through senior level. At Breeks, the teachers aid the students with the essential learning tools and skills that create and foster a love for learning, that spans across the entire life of every student.
