1.The state of Sikkim became an integral part of India on 16 May 1975.
2.Sikkim had close relations with Tibet and Bhutan, and the first king of Sikkim migrated from Tibet. Sikkim also shares a border with Bhutan. Here, the presence of a large number of Nepali people, mainly from eastern and central Nepal, also creates cultural links with Nepal.
