The Foundation Week celebrations (April 20–26) at PGCA, RPCAU, Pusa concluded on a vibrant and successful note. Four teams — Germinators, Green Rangers, Krishi Commandos and Krishi Kings — participated enthusiastically across a range of sports, literary and arts activities.

Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Dr. P.S. Pandey graced the occasion and appreciated the commendable efforts of Team PGCA for organizing such a dynamic event. He emphasized that activities beyond academics play a vital role in nurturing leadership, communication skills, team spirit and decision-making abilities. He also applauded the energetic participation of students, especially the girls.

Dr. Raman Trivedi (Director Students’ Welfare); Dr. Ratnesh Kumar Jha (Director of Extension Education); Dr. Anil Kumar Singh (Director of Research); Dr. P.P. Srivastava (Dean, College of Fisheries, Dholi); Dr. P.K. Pranav (Registrar) and Dr. P.K. Jha (Comptroller), RPCAU, Pusa also graced the event.

The PGCA, RPCAU Pusa organized a Butterfly Field Day on 17.04.2026. The programme was graced by the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Dr. P.S. Pandey, who highlighted the importance of promoting biodiversity, conserving nature and recognizing butterflies as vital bio-indicators. He also emphasized the need to educate school-going children about biodiversity conservation, as it will significantly influence their outlook in the future.
Dr. A.K. Singh, Director of Research, RPCAU, Pusa appreciated the efforts of the scientists in maintaining the biodiversity park.

The Post Graduate College of Agriculture, RPCAU, Pusa inaugurated five Domain Skilling Training Programmes under the Bihar Skill Development Mission across key domains including Medicinal & Aromatic Plants Growers, Organic Grower, Vegetable Grower, Horticulturist (Protected Cultivation) and Vermicompost Producer on 30th March, 2026.

The programme was graced by Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Dr. P. S. Pandey, who encouraged youth, farmers, and women to actively acquire new skills and transform them into entrepreneurial opportunities. He emphasized that skill development is vital for building a Viksh*t Bharat and urged farmers to share their experiences through social media to inspire others.
Highlighting the dynamic nature of agriculture, he stressed the importance of a progressive mindset, continuous learning, and strengthening farmer collectives for greater impact. He also thanked the Government of Bihar for sponsoring this initiative under Bihar Skill Development Mission.

Dr. R. K. Jha, Director of Extension Education, RPCAU, Pusa appreciated the efforts of BAMETI in enhancing the capacities of farmers, youth, and women through such initiatives.

Dr. A. K. Singh, Director of Research, RPCAU, Pusa highlighted the importance of income security and skill upgradation to attract youth towards agriculture and promote self-reliance.

The Post Graduate College of Agriculture, RPCAU, Pusa, in collaboration with the Directorate of Extension Education, successfully inaugurated a 3-day National Seminar on “Status and Prospects of Natural Farming” (28–30 March, 2026).
The Chief Guest, Dr. P. P. Shastry, emphasized the need for enhanced financial support and scientific validation to scale up natural farming, while recognizing its deep-rooted traditional significance.
Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Dr. P. S. Pandey highlighted natural farming as a self-sustaining and health-promoting approach, stressing the importance of stronger farmer–scientist collaboration.
Dr. Mayank Rai, Dean, PGCA, underlined the role of blockchain technology in ensuring traceability and discussed the long-term benefits of natural farming, including improved soil health, reduced input costs, and environmental sustainability.
Dr. A. K. Singh, Director of Research, RPCAU, Pusa; Dr. Ratnesh Kumar Jha, Director of Extension Education, RPCAU, Pusa; and Dr. Satya Prakash, Organizing Secretary of the seminar, also addressed the gathering.

PGCA, RPCAU Pusa proudly participated in the recently concluded Regional Agriculture Fair held from 13–15 March 2026. A total of 10 stalls representing various departments showcased innovative products and technologies. We are delighted to share that PGCA secured the First Prize for best stall among all participating colleges/institutions.

On 5th March 2026, the Department of Agricultural Extension Education, PGCA, RPCAU Pusa, organized an exposure visit for first-year M.Sc. students to Krishi Kalyanpur Producer Company Limited, an FPO located in Samastipur district, Bihar. The visit provided students with insights into the ongoing activities of the FPO, its strengths, challenges, and its role as a future support system for farmers.
Board member Laxman Singh explained the functioning of the FPO, from its formation to its current operations and annual turnover, highlighting that it has enrolled around 750 registered and 250 unregistered farmers. The participation of women farmers and strong institutional linkages reflected awareness of available policies and schemes. Such exposure visits help enhance the practical understanding and analytical capacity of future extension professionals.

The 21-day Winter School (February 10–March 2, 2026), sponsored by ICAR on the theme “Integrative Multi-Omics Strategies for Enhancing Stress Tolerance in Field Crops under Climate Change,” was inaugurated at PGCA, Pusa.
The inaugural session was graced by the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of RPCAU, Dr. P.S. Pandey, who highlighted the significance of organizing such programs that address emerging trends in crop improvement. He emphasized the growing role of advanced tools, including artificial intelligence, in exploring new research avenues and developing effective strategies to tackle emerging agricultural challenges. He also expressed his gratitude to ICAR for providing the opportunity to host this important programme.
Dr. Mayank Rai, Dean, PGCA, Pusa, appreciated the holistic approach adopted in the Winter School and encouraged participants to focus on addressing both biotic and abiotic stresses for sustainable crop improvement in the context of climate change.
Faculty members from various institutions across the country are currently participating in the programme.
