A Zonal Review Meeting regarding On-Account Payment (OAP) and Medical Services for States commencing with the East Zone (Chattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha, UP, and Bihar) and North-Eastern Zone States (Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura and West Bengal) was held on 05.08.2026 at ESIC Headquarters, Panchdeep Bhawan, New Delhi. Ms. T. L. Yaden, Financial Commissioner, ESIC welcomed the officials from the participating States and emphasized the importance of continued collaboration and coordination to further strengthen the delivery of quality medical services.

Representatives from the participating States attended the meeting and shared updates on utilisation of the On-Account Payment and medical services performance in their respective States. The meeting featured detailed deliberations on key issues, challenges and suggestions, facilitating the exchange of experiences and discussions on future strategies.

On 15 May 2026, the Directorate General Factory Advice Service & Labour Institutes (DGFASLI) was renamed as the Directorate General Occupational Safety and Health (DGOSH).

DGOSH serves as the Ministry’s technical arm for policy formulation in the areas of factory and dock safety.

विश्व स्तनपान सप्ताह (1–7 अगस्त 2026)

जन्म के बाद नवजात की पहली खुराक केवल माँ का दूध होनी चाहिए। यह शिशु के लिए सबसे सुरक्षित, स्वच्छ और संपूर्ण आहार है।

जन्म के तुरंत बाद स्तनपान शुरू करने से शिशु को आवश्यक पोषण मिलता है, जबकि स्तनपान से पहले किसी भी प्रकार का पेय या अन्य खाद्य पदार्थ (प्रीलैक्टियल फीड) देने से माँ के दूध के प्रवाह में विलंब हो सकता है तथा संक्रमण एवं बीमारियों का जोखिम बढ़ सकता है।
