A unique festival, held by Sajag Nagrik Manch in collaboration with Sawantwadi Muncipal Corporation at Jagganthrao Bhosale Garden (along the Moti Talav) that allows its visitors to discover and taste some of the exclusive but fast disappearing fruits and flowers that are indigenous to the Konkan region of India.Regional Fruit Research Station (Dr . Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Agricultural University)
along with other departments also participate in this popular cultural event that celebrates the varied diversity of local fruits and flowers in Sindhudurg district of Konkan region. Held anually since 2015 with the theme of Mascot Fruit "Cashew Apple" and Mascot Flower "Red Hibiscus". Local regular fruits and flowers and herbs will be on display. So will fruit and flower products from pickles and jams to juices, cakes, candies !! There is also a traditional recipe competition and cultural programs at the venue on 29, 30 April, 1 & 2 May evenings. The Moti Talav fest is an initiative to preserve and enhance the endangered aspect of our cultural heritage by providing fruit and flower growers the forum to market these 'lesser known fruit & flowers' and consumers to learn about and enjoy them. Visitors arriving from outside-state/ country may request for accommodation & travel facilitator. Festival volunteers shall help you to do necessary bookings, local travel arrangements, exploration trips etc. Accommodation is available at prominent NGOs, home stays, Hotels and Resorts.
