MSc Nutrition and Dietetics student along with faculty attended a two days National seminar on Indigenous Knowledge System organized by the IQAC, Lady Keane College on May 01-02,2025.
Student had an interactive, engaging and a platform to deliberate on the indigenous system. Three students presented a poster on innovative food product development which combine traditional and modern knowledge prompting them as a sustainable liviihood and ensuring food security.
Ms Grace Ibakordor Thongney, bag the first prize in the poster presentations on her innovative develop product on Flemingia vestita cupcake.
Ms Sensation and Ms Sarah Gangte also presented a poster on innovative food product from Sweet potato and Silver berry.
A paper presentation on the traditional healing practice of healers in Meghalaya was presented by Dr Laribha Dohtdong, faculty.
The two days seminar was indeed a learning experience and a reminder to practice, conserve and apply indigenous knowledge for achieving a productive and developing nation.
