We joyfully welcomed our new students this week as they begin their journey of theological formation and spiritual growth. During the orientation sessions, our Principal Rev. Dr. Jesudian Vijayasingh warmly greeted the incoming class, offering a powerful reminder that each one of us is created in the image of God—called, known, and beloved.

The Vice Principal Fr. Joby Kurien and chaplain Fr. Samaresh Pradhan led the orientation sessions, helping students understand their vital place not only in our seminary community but also in the greater fellowship of the Believers Eastern Church. Each of the faculty and staff were introduced to the seminarians, and each of the new students were also in turn introduced to the staff. We are excited to see how God will shape and use these future leaders for His glory!

With hearts full of gratitude and joy, the seminary and the St. Thomas Community bid farewell to our beloved principal, Fr. Dr. John Mathew K.M., who has been called to serve in a greater role as the Diocesan Vicar of the Delhi Diocese. This new assignment is not only a well-deserved promotion but also a testament to his faithful leadership and deep commitment to the Church.

While we will deeply miss his presence, wisdom, and steady guidance, we rejoice knowing that he is being entrusted with greater responsibilities in the service of God’s people. May the Lord continue to bless him abundantly in this next chapter of his ministry.

Congratulations, Father Dr. John! Go with our prayers and love — and know that your legacy here will remain strong.

Last week the seminary was privileged to be visited by Archbishop Daniel Mor Timotheos who took two sessions for the incoming seminarians. From his own ministry experiences and lessons learned during his seminary days, His Eminence taught the seminarians how they could deliberately work towards the goal of why they came to the seminary. Through helping them to expect the various challenges and pitfalls that are common to seminary training, His Eminence outlined several successful strategies that would help them excel in their studies. He reminded the students that when they intentionally followed the seminary guidelines, they could grow academically and spiritually by the grace of the Holy Spirit, thus becoming successfully equipped to become future missionaries and priests.

By the mercies of the Almighty and through the prayers of St. Ignatius, we have 75 new students joining this year as seminarians. This year is also special in that for the first time, we have 10 members from the Sisters of the Cross order joining for their higher theological training! All of our students are from various cultures, languages and geographical areas - all over India and even Nepal! We request your prayers for them as they embark on this journey of studying, growing and being equipped to become leaders of the Church.
