The Institute, functioning since 2010-2011 academic year, is located at the picturesque village of Bantakal in Udupi District of Karnataka (India). The Shri Sode Vadiraja Mutt Education Trust is a wing of the Shri Sode Vadiraja Mutt, one of the eight mutts at Udupi popularly known as Ashta Matas, established some eight hundred years ago by the renowned Hindu Saint Shree Madhwacharya. During the re
cent times, the Swamijis (Pontiffs) of these Mutts have turned their attention towards various social activities aimed at ensuring that all segments of the society are empowered with skills to benefit from the fruits of progress. SMVITM is an initiative of Shree Shree Vishwa Vallabha Theertha Swamiji, the present pontiff of Shri Sode Vadiraja Mutt. Though only 20 years of age Shree Vishwa Vallabha Theertha Swamiji has promoted SMVITM with a great sense of purpose as the Institute was the vision of his senior pontiff and mentor late Shree Vishottama Teertha Swamiji. The Shri Sode Vadiraja Mutt Education Trust is governed by a Governing Council. The Council is constituted by the Board of Trustees headed by President and the Pontiff of Shri Sode Vadiraja Mutt Shree Vishwa Vallabha Theertha Swamiji. The Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), functioning from 10 acre campus, affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum, and offer engineering education in various fields. A highly qualified faculty with excellent infrastructure makes SMVITM an institute with a difference. SMVITM will soon expand its activity to the field of management education.
