Independence Day 2026 Celebrations at Raghu Educational Institutions

Raghu Educational Institutions proudly celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India on 15th August 2026 with great patriotic spirit and enthusiasm at the campus in Dakamarri, Visakhapatnam.

The celebrations were conducted under the theme “Partners in Nation Building”, bringing together the faculty, students, NCC cadets, and staff members of Raghu Educational Institutions. The programme commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag, followed by the National Anthem and a series of patriotic activities that reflected the spirit of unity, discipline, and national pride.

The NCC cadets added grandeur to the celebrations through their disciplined participation and impressive presence. Faculty members and students actively took part in the programme, expressing their respect and gratitude towards the nation and remembering the sacrifices of the freedom fighters.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from the Raghu College of Pharmacy along with members of the wider Raghu Educational Institutions. The celebrations provided an opportunity for everyone to reaffirm their commitment to contributing positively towards the progress and development of the nation.

Raghu College of Pharmacy added another remarkable milestone to its journey of academic excellence by being awarded a "B" Grade for its B. Pharm Program by the Quality Council of India (QCI). This prestigious recognition reflected the institution's unwavering commitment to delivering quality pharmaceutical education and maintaining high academic standards.

The college secured an impressive 9th rank in Andhra Pradesh and 94th rank nationwide among 398 B. Pharm colleges evaluated across India. This achievement highlighted the institution's consistent efforts in promoting academic excellence, quality pharmacy education, student-centric learning, research and innovation, modern laboratory facilities, industry-oriented education, and continuous quality improvement.

The Training and Placement Cell of Raghu College of Pharmacy successfully organized a campus recruitment drive in collaboration with the recruiting team from PULSUS on 9th July 2026. The recruitment team interacted with the students and provided valuable insights into the organization, available career opportunities, job roles, and the recruitment process.

The drive commenced with a briefing session, where the recruiters explained the company profile, eligibility criteria, selection procedure, and career growth prospects. Interested students actively participated in the session and clarified their queries regarding the recruitment process.

Following the orientation, eligible candidates underwent the selection process, which included document verification, aptitude assessment, and personal interviews conducted by the PULSUS recruitment team. The interviews enabled students to showcase their academic knowledge, communication skills, and professional aptitude.

The recruitment drive was conducted smoothly under the guidance of the Training and Placement Cell, with the support of the faculty members. Faculty Development Programme on Artificial Intelligence in Drug Discovery – Day 3

The Day 3 of the Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Artificial Intelligence in Drug Discovery was successfully conducted on 1st July 2026 at the Computer Laboratory, EEE Block, Raghu College of Pharmacy. The sessions were led by Dr. P. Mallikarjuna Rao, who provided in-depth insights into drug-likeness evaluation, ADMET principles, and the applications of Generative AI in pharmaceutical research.

The programme commenced with a session on Drug-Likeness, Lipinski’s Rule of Five, and ADMET Principles, where participants gained a clear understanding of the essential parameters used to evaluate drug candidates. This was followed by a hands-on exercise using SwissADME, enabling participants to assess the pharmacokinetic properties and drug-likeness of compounds through practical demonstrations.

An informative session on Generative AI in Drug Discovery highlighted its concepts, opportunities, and limitations, emphasizing the transformative role of AI in accelerating drug design and development. Participants also attended a live demonstration on the use of ChatGPT for literature review, target discovery, and drug development tasks, which showcased the effective integration of AI tools into pharmaceutical research and academic activities.
The afternoon session focused on AI Applications in Clinical Trials, Pharmacovigilance, and Regulatory Science, where the resource person explained the role of artificial intelligence in improving clinical decision-making, drug safety monitoring, and regulatory processes. Participants actively interacted throughout the sessions, clarifying their queries and gaining valuable practical exposure to AI-enabled drug discovery workflows.

The programme concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony, during which participants were awarded certificates in recognition of their active participation and successful completion of the training programme. The Day 2 of the Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Artificial Intelligence in Drug Discovery was successfully conducted on 30th June 2026 at the Computer Laboratory, EEE Block, Raghu College of Pharmacy. The sessions were led by Dr. P. Mallikarjuna Rao, who provided comprehensive insights into the application of Artificial Intelligence in modern drug discovery and development.

Subsequently, an informative session on Approved EGFR Inhibitors, including Gefitinib, Erlotinib, Afatinib, and Osimertinib, highlighted their therapeutic significance and role in targeted cancer therapy. Another practical session focused on exploring drug information using ChEMBL and PubChem, where participants learned to retrieve and analyze chemical and biological data from public databases.

In the afternoon, the resource person delivered an engaging lecture on AI-Assisted Discovery of Novel Drug Candidates, emphasizing the growing role of artificial intelligence in accelerating drug development. Participants also performed a hands-on exercise using Swiss Similarity for similarity-based virtual screening, followed by a discussion on interpretation of results and lead identification, which enhanced their understanding of computational drug discovery workflows.

The participants actively engaged in all the sessions and hands-on activities, making the programme highly interactive and informative. The second day concluded successfully with participants gaining valuable practical knowledge and advanced skills in AI-driven drug discovery, molecular databases, and virtual screening techniques.

The Day 1 of the Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Artificial Intelligence (AI) was successfully conducted on 29th June 2026 at the Computer Laboratory, EEE Block, Raghu College of Pharmacy. The programme commenced with an inaugural session, during which the dignitaries and resource persons were warmly welcomed and felicitated by the organizing committee.

The event commenced with a formal inaugural session, where the dignitaries were welcomed and honoured with mementoes as a token of appreciation. The resource persons delivered insightful sessions on the basics of Artificial Intelligence, its core concepts, machine learning, and its growing impact on education, healthcare, and research. The sessions also included live demonstrations and practical applications, enabling participants to understand AI tools and their effective implementation in teaching and professional development.

The programme witnessed active participation from faculty members, who enthusiastically engaged in discussions, interactive activities, and hands-on learning sessions. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the resource persons, management, organizing committee, and all participants for making the programme a grand success. The FDP served as a valuable platform for strengthening digital competencies and promoting innovation in higher education.

The first day concluded on a positive note, providing participants with a strong foundation in Artificial Intelligence and setting the stage for the advanced topics and hands-on sessions planned for the subsequent days of the Faculty Development Programme.
