History of Urmia University of Technology:
Founding Board of Urmia University of Technology ( UUT )(Persian: دانشگاه صنعتی ارومیه-Dāneshgāh-e San'ati-ye Oroumieh ) comprised in the summer of 2005 and start its educational and research activities under permission of Ministry of Science, Research and Technology ( MSRT ) of Islamic Republic of Iran. ly started at the fields of Information Technology (IT), Mechanical and Industrial Engineering for undergraduate students on March 2007. Geographical possession:
Initial area of UUT was 2 hectares of land in the 5/2 km from the city of Urmia and along roads and rivers Shahrchay. Urgent need to increase academical and official areas, university heads decided to begin the construction of the first department on September 2007.
