A day immersed in the beauty and traditions of the Chianti Colli Fiorentini, exploring the historic Villa Medicea di Lilliano — a charming wine estate surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. 🍇🌿

From walking through the old cellars and learning about the estate’s heritage to tasting local wines and products, every part of the visit offered a closer look at the role of food, wine, and landscape in Italian culture.

We’re so excited to introduce our brand new Turtle Academy!

For years, our tortoises have been a special part of the Villa Rossa community, quietly living in the annex and occasionally making surprise appearances among our students whenever the sun was shining.

Now, they finally have a beautiful new space designed especially for them — and you can visit them every day as they happily explore their new home ☀️🌿

Come by and say hello to our slowest (and cutest) residents 💚

November 4–6, 2026 | Florence, Italy

Join fellow SUF alumni for a landmark reunion at Villa Rossa, marking the 60th anniversary of the 1966 Florence flood. A special welcome extends to Fall '66 alumni who were present during those historic days.

The reunion will feature:

• Villa Rossa tours & connections with current students
• SUF faculty-led Florence tours
• Flood anniversary commemorations
• Tastings, cooking classes and more activities

✍️✨ On April 20, and Syracuse University Florence joined forces once again for a Wikipedia Editing Marathon dedicated to women artists—bringing visibility to voices too often left out of the narrative.

Working collaboratively in groups, participants engaged in on-site research and writing, creating and expanding Wikipedia entries for several twentieth-century artists who deserve wider recognition, including Lola Costa, Flavia Arlotta, Lea Colliva, and Elena Salvini Pierallini. 🎨🖌️

We were especially pleased to welcome representatives from , whose work continues to inspire a more inclusive digital knowledge landscape. 💻

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed their time, energy, and passion to this initiative! 🧡💙

From a simple idea to real, lasting impact.

Led by Lila Boyle, Sociology student and volunteer with Fondazione Solidarietà Caritas ETS Firenze, this initiative came together to support single mothers in Florence navigating challenges in housing, employment, and childcare.

Powered by meaningful local partnerships, the community showed up—and made it count 💛

Big heart, bigger impact. 🌟

Syracuse Florence student is spending her semester giving back. Through our I-Engage volunteering program, she has been working , where she also launched a fundraiser to support single mothers and their children facing difficulties in accessing basic necessities.

In this video, Lila takes us inside Casa San Michele, a safe space where women are supported by staff and volunteers as they rebuild their lives and begin a journey toward independence. She also raises awareness about “white resignations”, an abusive labor practice that still affects many women today.
