📌 Evento finale del Progetto PRIN PNRR “RESCUE-NETS”

Si terrà l’evento finale del progetto RESCUE-NETS – RESilience to Climate change in agricultural production under multi-pUrposE NETS, dedicato all’ottimizzazione delle reti antipioggia per la protezione delle colture arboree dagli eventi climatici estremi.

Durante il convegno verranno presentati i principali risultati scientifici del progetto PRIN PNRR, con interventi su:
🌧️ permeabilità alla pioggia
🌬️ permeabilità all’aria
🔧 proprietà meccaniche delle reti agricole
🌱 applicazioni in campo e implicazioni per la frutticoltura sostenibile

🎓 Riconoscimento CFP per:
- Dottori Agronomi e Dottori Forestali
- Periti Agrari e Periti Agrari Laureati

👉 Un’importante occasione di confronto tra ricerca, professionisti e stakeholder del settore agricolo.

RESCUE-NETS took part in the TANGO‑Circular Final Conference, held in Matera from 25th to 27th June 2025.

📍 This international event represented an important opportunity for academic and scientific exchange, allowing researchers and stakeholders to discuss innovative approaches for circular economy, sustainability, and resource efficiency.

🌱 Participation in the conference contributed to enhancing the overall results of RESCUE-NETS activities, while also fostering the creation of new synergies with other research initiatives operating at both national and European levels.

🤝 Events like this confirm the strategic role of networking and interdisciplinary collaboration in addressing the challenges posed by climate change and resilient agricultural systems.

🔬📍 RESCUE-NETS @ “La Ricerca al Centro” – Lecce (Italy)

On 14 January 2026, the RESCUE-NETS project took part in “La Ricerca al Centro”, an event dedicated to scientific research, innovation, and dialogue between academia, institutions, and the local community, promoted by VITAE – AIS Italia in Lecce.
During the event, we presented:
✔️ the objectives and scientific framework of RESCUE-NETS
✔️ the innovative use of multi-purpose agricultural nets to support crop protection under climate change
✔️ key findings on rainwater permeability, air permeability, and mechanical performance of agricultural nets
✔️ practical applications for Mediterranean farming systems, including orchards and protected cultivation
It was a valuable opportunity to engage with researchers, professionals, and stakeholders and to discuss sustainability, climate adaptation, and technology transfer for a more resilient agriculture.

🔬🌱 RESCUE-NETS Project - PRIN PNRR 2022 - Rainwater permeability testing of agricultural nets in Lecce, Italy!
At the Botanical Garden of the University of Salento, an innovative experimental set-up has been arranged to test the rain permeability of agrotextiles used for crop protection
The objective is to monitor the capacity, under natural rainfall conditions of innovative materials, to protect crops from rain by without impeding their ventilation.
This test is an integral part of the activities of the RESCUE-NETS project, which aims to study strategies for improving the efficiency of permeable covers for agricultural use to minimize environmental impact and to provide cost-savings in materials, energy, transportation and final disposal.

🔬🌱 Progetto RESCUE-NETS – PRIN PNRR 2022 – Test di permeabilità alla pioggia di reti agricole a Lecce!
Presso l’Orto botanico dell’Università del Salento, è stato allestito un innovativo set-up sperimentale per la verifica della permeabilità alla pioggia di agrotessili utilizzati per la protezione delle colture.
L’obiettivo è testare materiali innovativi in grado di proteggere le colture dalla pioggia, monitorandone il comportamento in condizioni di precipitazione naturale, senza impedirne la ventilazione.
Questo test è parte integrante delle attività del progetto RESCUE-NETS, che mira a studiare strategie di miglioramento dell’efficienza delle coperture permeabili per uso agricolo in modo da ridurre al minimo l'impatto ambientale e contribuire a risparmiare sui costi di materiali, energia, trasporto e smaltimento finale.

☀️☀️As part of the activities of the RESCUE-NETS PRIN PNRR project, we are currently conducting artificial ageing tests on plastic netting materials used in agriculture.☀️☀️

🌡️☀️ The goal is to simulate prolonged exposure to sunlight and environmental stress, in order to assess the durability, mechanical resistance, and performance over time of different plastic nets under controlled conditions.☀️🌡️

🌱💧 Water Permeability Analysis – RESCUE-NETS Experimental Activity 💧🌱
In our RESCUE-NETS project, research is translated into Laboratory tests. This video shows one of our ongoing experimental activities: the analysis of water permeability of agrotextiles.
➡️ This test allows us to assess how agrotextiles respond to rainfall, a crucial factor in understanding the impact of climate change and improving land management strategies.
🔬 Through this research, we aim to develop innovative solutions for environmental sustainability and adaptation to extreme weather events.
