OzItaly Connecting native English speakers from Australia with Italian host families and schools

The aim of this project is bringing a bit of Australia to Italy and give Australians the chance to take a bit of Italy with them when they leave. It's the connection between Australians who are interested in discovering the “authentic Italy” and want to enrich their understanding of the Italian culture, and Italians who want to improve their English language skills and find out more about the wild Australian world. OzItaly wants to give Australians the privilege of getting involved in the Italian daily local life and feel part of it, so as to establish new and rich connections and human relationships within the Italian reality. Also, the assistance and the guidance offered by the host family makes it possible for Australians to explore off the beaten path destinations and discover the local hidden gems of Italy. It’s an experience built around the pleasure of revelation, rather than around expectations. At the same time, this is an opportunity for Italians to improve their English skills in a familiar environment, so that the learning process becomes much more spontaneous, interesting, and motivating.

🥂 A new adventure begins in the Prosecco Hills! A big welcome to Lara, who will be calling the Prosecco Hills her home for the next month! 🍇🏡

And she couldn’t have picked a better time to arrive… harvest season is in full swing! So, alongside discovering Italian life, she might even get the chance to roll up her sleeves and help pick a few grapes herself! 😉🍇

Living here means so much more than discovering a new place. It’s about becoming part of everyday Italian life, sharing meals, discovering local traditions, meeting new people and experiencing those little moments that make life in Italy so special. 🇮🇹❤️

And we’re sure that, when she has some free time, she’ll be ready to grab her backpack and explore beyond the Prosecco Hills! 🚆✨ From historic cities to beautiful villages, breathtaking landscapes and all the incredible places Italy has to offer.

Welcome to Italy! We’re so happy to have you here! 🇦🇺❤️🇮🇹

🇦🇺✈️ Ciao, Italy! A big welcome to Molly, who has just arrived to spend an unforgettable month in Emilia-Romagna. 🇮🇹❤️

Over the next few weeks, she’ll experience real Italian family life, discover the local culture, enjoy incredible food, explore beautiful places, and help her host family improve their English through everyday conversations.

This isn’t just a trip, it’s the chance to live in Italy like a local, build lifelong friendships, and create memories that will last forever.

Molly has chosen to stay with one of our experienced host families, now welcoming their third tutor. A wonderful sign of how rewarding this experience is for everyone involved.

Have an amazing adventure, Molly! ✨

Could you see yourself doing this too? 🇦🇺🍝

⚽ Can you guess how tutor Dylan spent his very first weekend in Italy? 🇮🇹👀

In Italy, football is almost a religion 😄 so there was no better way for Dylan to kick off his OzItaly adventure than at the stadium in Florence, watching Fiorentina and soaking up the incredible match-day atmosphere 💜🙌

And you, have you ever been to an Italian stadium? 👀💜

👋🏼 Natalie has moved to beautiful Marche to join her new host family. Can you guess which two traditional dishes she’s about to try? 👀

🔍 Some of our tutors choose to explore different regions of Italy through our cultural exchange program and take on multiple placements. It’s an incredible way to experience the country beyond just one perspective.

We’re sure this will be an enriching, invaluable experience for Natalie. An experience shaped by genuine connections, everyday discoveries, and cultural nuances that simply couldn’t be experienced any other way ❤️
