I’d like to introduce FoDE, a GUI app I developed for OpenFOAM.
FoDE is an unofficial GUI editor for OpenFOAM dictionary files, built with Python and PySide6. It runs on Linux, macOS, and Windows and is released under the GNU AGPL license.
It lets you browse, edit, and manage case dictionaries through either a structured tree view or a plain-text editor, depending on what you need. It is designed for engineers and researchers who use OpenFOAM and want a more convenient way to set up and modify case files.
Boundary conditions are shown in a table, where you can edit, add, delete, and rename entries. FoDE also includes a simple 3D blockMesh viewer that helps you visualize nodes and blocks, and it can load STL files too, which is useful when checking snappyHexMesh setups.
You can quickly copy example cases from your OpenFOAM installation to a working folder and start editing right away. FoDE also includes a case comparison feature.
