Regarding Japan's PERMANT RESIDENCY (PR) VISA holders
For the participants and viewers of the webinar held on July 26, 2025, there is a correction to one of the answers to the questions from a participant regarding the eligibility of Japanese permanent residency visa (PR) holders. Upon further inspection of the guide, PR holders are not eligible to apply for GSEP. For reference, kindly refer to page 5 of the guide accessible through the site below. According to "Note 3",

"Persons who have graduated from a Japanese high school or secondary school (including those
who are expected to graduate), as well as persons who have acquired permanent residence in
Japan, are ineligible to apply."

Apologies for the confusion this has caused.

Tokyo Institute of Technology merged with Tokyo Medical and Dental University to form Institute of Science Tokyo (Science Tokyo) on October 1, 2024. For details, please refer to the following article.
